I finally, after totally stressing about it, booked for October. :cool1: Now the question is this...

I booked Garden View at the Poly (October 26-30) Tell me I made the right decision LOL. Are there really any bad views? I have looked at every Poly post that I can find through the search but havent really found anything. What reccomendations do you have for a family of 6? (DH, DS-11, DD-9, DS-3 and DD who will be around 14 weeks at that time? My husband is annoyed because he thinks Im making it to hard. He said we shouldnt request anything and just go with whatever. Is he right? And yes, I know a request isnt guaranteed ;)

I appreciate your help! I am so excited to be staying at the Poly! We stayed at CSR in 2005 and LOVED it, but we really wanted to stay monorail with the little ones this time. :dance3:

Oh, congratulations. You will love the Polynesian!

But I'm with your husband. I would just let the magic happen.:wizard: Every single longhouse has advantages.

And it is so much better to go excited about what may be than to start a vacation with even a twinge of disappointment if you don't get the longhouse requested. Just MHO.

Enjoy the anticipation!

Thanks for your reply! Im beginning to think that you...and DH are right. Im just going to go with it.

If i was you i would request a water view. Unless you are welling to at trees ect

Well, there are rooms that face the marina and some that face the luau that are considered gardenview as I understand it. But the views from rooms that face the gardens are just as beautiful IMO.

We stay at the Poly often and have honestly never encountered a bad view. Unless you want a specific building....and it is only a request to begin with I would just go with what I get. The Poly is beautiful, rooms are big, and it's just a magical resort to begin with when you can get views of the MK just by walking outside. I'm sure you'll be very happy! :)

Could I be so bold as to ask what rate you received? I am thinking of staying at the Poly in late Oct. for one night before a DVC resort on points.

To tell you the truth Im not really sure LOL I booked a package through my TA and got the same quote that I got online, which was $3633 and some change for 4 nights/4 day hoppers/garden view/dining plan for 2 adults, 4 kids ages 11,9,3,1.

The Fiji longhouse has one set of garden view rooms that face in the direction of the luau and that really give you a view of the beach and lagoon. The ground floor rooms are nice because you can just walk out and be on the beach in about 50 feet. One downside is it's a little bit of a walk to the Volcano Pool.

Honestly I can't think of a 'bad' garden view at the Polynesian at all. :goodvibes The landscaping is so wonderful that even if you had a partial view of the parking lot it wouldn't matter much. I'd just go with the flow and let things happen. :thumbsup2
