We booked our reservation for POP Century for Oct 23-30 using the Monster Pin, but when we booked they told us that we had to book a single night no ticket, no DP for the night that the code didn't cover.

We booked for 10/23-10/30. 10/24-10/30 are covered by the PIN, but the 23rd isn't. Is this normal or do we need to call back.

Now we have two reservations. 1 night on 10/23 (Room only, No tickets or Dining) and the rest (10/24-10/30) with Tickets and Dining. We want to have tickets and dining for the whole time, but understand that the first night would be at a different rate than the package.

This is what they told me as well, when I was considering arriving a day before my pin code would apply. So I'm going to say that it's normal, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

This can be totally normal. We're going down 8/14-8/23. Free dining starts 8/15. We have a room-only ressie 8/14-8/15 and a package with tickets & DDP (free!!) for 8/15-8/23. Our plane is scheduled to land at MCO around 1:30 and I figure we'll be all checked in by 3 or so. Instead of paying $70+ per person to go to a park for a few hours that night, we originally planned to just hang out at the pool or head to DTD or a mini-golf or the boardwalk. There's so much to do on a no-ticket night!

FWIW - I said "we originally planned" because DHS will host The Last Tour to Endor on 8/14. I'm getting tickets so DS and I will be heading to DHS for the night, anyway! Bonus - we'll get to ride TSMM before it's closed for refurb the very next day.

I have a different pin and the last night of my stay was would not be covered by the pin. Going from 11/16-11/25 and the pin only goes through the night of the 23rd- not the 24th. The CM initially told me that I would have to book separately and do a one night booking for the last day. I argued over it (very nicely) and then her whole system went down while we were discussing it. I told her how disappointed I was because that meant that we would not be able to book dining for Thanksgiving day until 180 days from that point and I knew it would probably be booked. When her system came back up, it allowed her to book it all in one reservation and my last night did not have the discount. Mine is for the last night of stay and not the first so that might be the difference.

Maybe call in to another CM to see if you can do it differently- always worth a try

A day after is covered in the res. (Although probably at a different rate.)
The day before you needed a separate booking since that specific offer does not include guests who arrive on that date.
Offers each have a specific booking date range and arrival/travel date range.
Since you needed to travel before the arrival was allowed for that offer, you needed to book a night to cover before the pin offer allowed for arrivals.

Although I don't know why you could not book a package, rather than a room only, for that one night. But it most likely be at a different rate. And would require tickets you probably don't need anyway, since you will have the tickets on your "Monster" package.
It probably just would not be beneficial money-wise for you to have two separate package reservations.

After checking again that does seem to be the way they do it. Now we are hoping for Free Dining to be offered. That will be a larger savings over the 40% discount. Hopefully, if that comes through it will cover all the dates and we can rework the reservation.

That happened to me, because I arrive Saturday, November 27th and leave Saturday, December 4th.

The pin does not cover the first night, because it is still considered peak season.

So I booked room only the first night; and I will just hang around DTD, since I am at POR.

I got the package for the remaining 6 days, and added dining, and still had a savings of $286.00. It would have been $525.00 if I had not added dining.

Since I travel solo, free dining never works for me, but since I pay almost the full double occupancy rate to travel alone, this code paid off for me big time.

I agree that they are being much more strict with the dates of promotions. I was booking for Nov. 26- Dec. 4 and they said I'd need a separate ressie for the 26th and 27th. I can't understand why they can't put it on one ressie and discount the days in the promo. Makes no sense to me. If I have to book tickets separate then I'll be buying from UT or some other vendor. Or we may spend time at US at the beginning of our trip. This is nuts.

Because the 26th/27th are considered peak season, because it is the weekend of Thanksgiving.

Remember pin codes are for filling rooms; they don't need it during Thanksgiving - behind Spring Break and Christmas - it is their busiest time.

The pin code starts when people check out for the holiday on Sunday. I did the Saturday as a room only reservation myself, and I will just do a non-park day

It won't help you with dining, but some have reported luck with requesting their tickets the day before their package starts. I don't know any details though.

This explains why my Disney TA only gave me a quote for 11/14-11/20. We want to arrive on 11/13. We are only getting a 5 or 6 day basic ticket. I told her I don't mind paying rack rate for POP one night without the 40% discount.

I've been reading on other threads too that you can pick up your tickets prior to the package beginning. You can buy more tickets than nights your are staying so you can add that extra day to the tickets and pick them up at Guest Serivces DTD I think.
