Ahhh!! So excited and I wish I could shout it from the rooftops! We're going back to Disneyland!!! Originally we weren't going back until *next* year, but my husband and I decided there is no place we would rather celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary as a family than Disneyland--it is our family's happy place!

I checked Virgin America today and plane tickets from Seattle to LA are $79 each way, so I jumped on it and booked tickets for the four of us. There is no turning back now!

I can hardly wait to share the news with the children later this summer--not until after my MIL visits...I don't want to deal with raised eyebrows over why we're not visiting her instead!

We're planning on five days at Disneyland at one day at Legoland. We've never done Legoland, but our children are prime ages for it (5 and 7) and are eager to try it out.

SO excited!!!

Oh I wish Virgin America flew out of Portland! Good snag on the deal!

I also wanted to say--we weren't going to go this summer either. But we just can't stay away.

Yay! I'm really happy for your anniversary plans. Really, what better place to celebrate than the happiest place on Earth, right? Now it's all coming up fast! :goodvibes

Yay! I just booked our airfare yesterday.:yay: Our was not nearly as good of prices. Then again we have a lot further to go (Detroit to Lax.) I was concerned we would have to scrap the trip because the prices kept going up, but we got it. :thumbsup2

July 31st to Aug 5 (at DL, then 5-9 around LA.)

Yay for us! Let the trip planning start. :cool1:

This will be our 1st time at DL, our 1st in California really. We were thinking about Legoland too our kids are 10 and will turn 7 on this trip. It has a water park too right? I figure in Aug that would be a very good thing. :woohoo:

We're a couple of hours from SeaTac, but it still is our closest airport--and I'm thankful for the deal! Phew! Congratulations on your upcoming trip!!

Congratulations on your first trip to Disneyland! It really is the Happiest Place on Earth! We LOVE it there!

Yes, there is a waterpark at Legoland. I've never been there, so I can't really give any advice though. I'm not planning on doing the waterpark with my family, but from what I've heard, if you want to do the waterpark, you should allow two days for your Legoland visit. As I said though, I've never been there.

We have been to WDW many times, we are DVC members. The flight from Detroit to Orlando is only 2 hours.

So the whole idea of Disney planning I am used to. The whole Disneyland and SoCal is new to me. Some of the attractions are the same, but I have so much to learn about.

But I figure we can't call ourselves true Disney fans if we have never seen DL right?? After all that is where it all started! ::MickeyMo

It will be our wedding anniversary too (18 I think, more then 15, less then 20,I keep losing track.) We did WDW for our 10th. We will be at DL for my youngest DD's actual birthday so that will be fun too!

We also had no intentions of going back to DL this year, after surprising the kids with a 2 week trip to DL in Feb/11 driving down. I went to a TA seminar on WDW, and ended up winning a 3 night stay at the Hilton Anaheim of all things. So DH in his wisdom decided to squeeze the most out my AP, and so we're going to DL Sept 29 to Oct 2nd. The kids have no idea that we are going, and if they trusted me before they won't now, once they realize that I've pulled a fast one on them again:sail::sail::sail:. They won't know till we head to the airport. So once again I'm plotting and scheming against the kids behind their backs:angel::angel:.

YAY! We're going this Fall as well--our second trip in less than a year. I don't know if we're going to be able to NOT go in 2012, even though we're not planning on it at this point. I'll have to see if were DLR'd-out after our next trip.

Congrats on the great price on plane tickets! Have a Great time! We just went a couple months ago and Hubby and I are thinking of trying to go next year for our 20th Anniversary. I really don't know if I can go without the kids though?:confused3 By the way, we're just over in Spokane, Wa. We don't get the Great airline prices like Seattle does.:sad1: We didn't do too bad though, we went on southwest for $224 roundtrip.:goodvibes

Oooh, I don't think I could go without my children--they would be heartbroken! I can just see my little boy's eyes welling up with tears and hear him sobbing...that would not be good! Nah, we're celebrating family style! :)

We have done WDW trips with out the kids twice (once we had kids, many times before that. :rolleyes1) I thought we would miss the kids and feel bad about it, or that they would feel left out.

Nope. I mean yes we miss them, I tend to any time I am with out them. Even if I am HAPPY to not be around them.

But the kids were fine, we had a great time. Because they had been so many times with us, and knew they would be going back too, it was fine. In fact because our kids are younger, they really accepted the fact that "mom and dad get to ride what ever they want, together. " That doesn't happen as much during our family trips.

Both trips were great. I did find myself explaining "yes we have kids, yes we left them at home." I don't know why I felt the need to tell people we meet that........... I think I am going to be ready for another one in a few years............. (trip that is, not child!)

Anyway my advice is if you kids have been many times before, and will get to go again in the future, go ahead and do a parents only trip! ;)

That's so exciting. Congrats. I think keeping it from you MIL is a great idea :) Plus you will shorten the wait for the kids and then there will be less "How many sleeps till we go?"

Like I said I really don't know if I could go without the kids. My dd has been 3times and ds only 2 times. I really like the idea of a family trip again. We would really like to go around the Christmas season. Maybe around Thanksgiving someday.:thumbsup2:lovestruc

Have a wonderful magical time!! I am with you on this one!! We don't travel without our children ever! I figure they grow up waaaaay too soon as it is and soon will not want to or be able to join my husband and I when we travel therefore I want to take every moment of their childhood and cherish it!
There will be plenty of time for my husband and I in a few years!!!:upsidedow
