We couldn't decide where we wanted to go for our honeymoon which we aren't taking until Nov 2006 (though we are getting married in June). We were torn between Aruba and Disney. FI gave me the green light to do both!!!

We are going to spend 9 days in Aruba (neither of us have ever been-which is why we wanted to go) and then we will spend 6 days in Disney. Right now I booked us for POR but if we can save up enough I may switch us to the Poly (I never stayed there but always wanted to).

I am so excited and can't wait to be back at Disney!

Great news to be able to do both! You'll have fun wherever you stay @ Disney. No flaming here, just a question. Do you feel awkward or fear at all to go to Aruba with the current conflict with the US?

I have always wanted to go to Aruba, but seeing how their government and police policies are, I can honestly say I would never go. I don't necessarily agree with a boycott due to Natalee's disappearance, but just the way the whole thing is being handled raises a big red flag.

Again, no flames, just your opinon. Have fun!! :wave2:

thelionqueen,

I do not fear my safety in Aruba....there are tragic events that occur right here in the states that are just as sad. It also could have been prevented if the school that she was traveling with set some limits that underage drinking would not be tolerated on a school sponsored trip regardless of the drinking age in Aruba (but that is just my opinion and I know I am probably in the minority there).

tiggergirl, I completely agree with you. I live in a city in Canada that had one of the most well know serial killers/rapists back in the 1990s. I know that is longer, but he has been caught and I don't see it as a reason not to visit. These things happen every day in every country and they should stop us from travelling to the destinations we want to. I personnally still think that Natalee Hollaway is still alive, not on Aruba any more, but still alive, just a hunch, but her school should have never let them go to a bar unsupervised! Just thought I would let you know that your not alone in your opinion.
