Booked On April 2006 Magic Cruise

After going back and forth debating what to do regarding my decisions on whether to book a 7 night eastern cruise in April of 2006 or not, I finally just went for it this morning!! I was never really happy with the selection of cabins available, and every time I had to commit, something just did not seem right. I decided against the cruise at one point but alas had regrets big time!! This am on the disney website, I found 2 connecting category 10 rooms on deck 7, rooms 7505 and 7507 and just went for it. I was too afraid to wait and knew that if it wasn't now it would be never!!!! I am so pysched as up until now the only rooms we could find in our budget were side by side cabins in either 10 or 11 category and I really did not want to go that route........wanted the added comfort of the connecting rooms!! I'm so happy and feel nothing but pure excitement !! April 15, 2006 here we come!

I know what you mean. I have been going back and forth on what to do. I wish our school would release their 2005-2006 schedule so we could know what spring break was going to be.

The only problem we have with the 7 night is that we would HAVE to fly, but with the 4 night we have time to drive. Who knows what airfare is going to be by then.

Oh well.....I guess if these are the toughest decisions we have to make for a while, we really are blessed people!

Ok, so now I hate you!!!! I have been trying all week and getting yuck for rooms... Matter Of fact cheapest I could get was just about the same rooms that we had in August..... I wanted higher at the least.... How did you get this room and why didnt DU or mouse.. whatever have them???.. I think you need to share with us.. that is the only fair thing to do.... So,,, seriously, what TA did you use.. or did you book when we were onboard and got the discount.. I didnt think you did but I could be wrong... Help me here cause im getting outragious rates and Im getting mad and sad cause I can not justify almost 9gs for this cruise.... smile and think mago thougts Eileen... BTW, we went to a tasting this weekend to bone up on our skills

Eileen, not to start trouble but you could always come with us on the Feb 18 Magic - rates are a lot better.

I was originally going to book with DU, but I wasn't pleased with the selection of cabins they offered.......not their fault ......just nothing that appealed enough to justify the expense.......last night I happened to go on travelocity and found 2 connecting rooms in category 10, deck 7........waited to the early am and went directly to disney cruise lines website and found those cabins available too.........called immediately as was told those cabins were "on-hold" and not available......sure enough, I went back to their website and noticed that one of the connecting rooms (Cabins) was not available.......wanted to cry.....kept refreshing the screen and checking back and sure enough within 30-45 minutes, both cabins popped back up as being available......call back Disney and booked them immediately......cabins 7505 and 7507. Price through Disney was $7920.65.........but it gets better.........this afternoon, I transferred the entire reservation to Costco and saved almost $700.00.......now my total costs are $7222.65
Still higher than what I wanted to pay, but more in line with what we can budget...........I can also add Russell at some point, as the cabins accomodate up to 4. I had to put the deposit down immediately (Disney will let you hold the reservation for a few days without requiring the deposit) with Costco, but I have until January of 2006 to pay the remaining balance! I talked with my sil last night and she urged me just to go for it, and so I did!! She and my brother may book this cruise too!! You can always book with Disney and then transfer to a cheaper agency and save $$$$$$$$$ Or call Costco directly, if you have a membership, and they can check for you too.........they do offer the cheapest rates I have found to date!! I'm hoping you find what you are looking for...............hoping we can cruise together.....................

You may want to contact Costco to make sure if you add someone that the price does not increase to the going rate of the room at that time. I was told by a TA that Disney has changed their policy on this & they are charging the current rate for the cabin if you add someone.

You mean EVERYONE in the cabin would be charged the current price if you added someting, or the 1 person you add will be added at the current price?

I did not specifically ask that question, but I would think that it would be just that person... I did not want to find out the hardway so just booked everyone.

I always book everyone when I book too (just seems easier), but a friend of ours just went on their second cruise and they always wait and add their daughter later (to save on the deposit), so that is why I was asking.

February 18.. is this a holiday week???? I vote if we can alot cheaper rooms we go for it....Roger and marie wont have a choice.. they will hate to sail without us.... got to go check net for holiday week.. Eileen, it is President's week but still a lot cheaper - for us it was $1700 cheaper! We did also book an inside room this time around which we don't care about (see my *new* Tag) - we're on the ship, who cares??? I can't tell you how bummed I've been about this, it would really be great if we could all go together again (but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet)...Hello to Nick and the kids, Dorothy too! Michelle, how is your pricing coming along? Did anyone write to Roger and Maria? Last I heard from them was on our original thread. I don't want to ask them (I sort of already did) cause then I'll feel like a troublemaker. If you guys change your dates I want it to be of your own free will, LOL!! I did get a nice email from Jane the other day and asked her if she was planning to come. Have not heard from Deborah, anyone else?

Ok... Presidents week, eastern.. fine with that called disney 2gs less then eastern... total for two rooms inside connecting... deck 7 all 5 of us.. 6,447.37... Big difference!
