I just booked our flight for a long weekend trip in January 2006. I bought 3 direct flights on Delta. I'm concerned about the fares skyrocketing due to the increase in oil prices that are almost a certainty due to Rita! Time will tell whether or not I did the right thing. I did get a decent price. However, they were close to $200 (total) more than we're paying for our trip in Oct '05.

Can't wait to get there. It's been too long!!!

We bought our tickets in March of 2005 for our trip in Jan 2006. We got direct flights with Delta to Disney. We bought 8 round trips for 176.90 each. I am curious too. I dont think they can charge you more, but they can go out of business? I hope not.... Urg... I think that they could cancel flights, but I really dont think they can charge you more for the ticket you have already paid for. They I think can charge the last min ticket buyer out the roof prices for their tickets though.

Does anyone know how this works?

Good for you. We are "up to" buying tickets for our May '06 trip, but I need to get my spring schedule to see if I have Monday night classes. We hope to use the "2 for" Disney Visa ticket for that. For us that would come to just over $160 per ticket if we can get it. We used to get direct flights for about $189, we've been watching prices go to around $230.

Has anyone used the Disney Visa Vouchers? That price seems too good to be true.

My DSis thought it would be good to extend our DVC stay now from Friday night through Monday in May. It's over Mothers Day and if DMom wants to do, it, I'm for it. Someday we'll be able to not use weekends, but for now, we go when we can.

It seems I always book my flights early w/o even realizing it!?!?
Now that kids are in school, I plan our trip for April vacation and after reviewing past vacation emails it seems I've always booked flights for April in August. I guess I'm not one to wait to the last minute, nor take the gamble on flight fares, as soon as the flights post at the price I want to pay, then I book. Seems both neurotic and sensible???

I booked flights two weeks ago for a long weekend in January and then our 8 day trip in June 2006. I was able to get a great rate ($138) and direct flights ... which is amazing since we almost always have to fly through CLT.

These tickets are on Delta ... but the way that I look at it ... DH and I kept booking flying USAir while everyone was saying that they were dead ... and now they are coming out of bankruptcy.

We tend to book our air way out ...

I always book my flights as soon as I can, if the price is right, just because I'm so afraid the price will just go up. I bought my plane tickets for 3/06 on Jetblue as soon as they were released over the summer, as the price was $235 round trip. I don't usually see any better than that from BOS-MCO. My tickets on Song, however, for my upcoming trip in Nov, I paid $205 and that's the cheapeast I've ever flown!
Now just gotta wait for more airfare to be released as I need 2 tickets to Vegas in 9/06 and 2 tickets to WDW in 10/06.

Airlines CAN charge you more for existing tickets (fuel surcharges for example) but must give you the opportunity for a refund without penalty if they do so as I understand it.

Wow. I just booked some great fares out of Chicago -Midway to MCO in early January. $115 RT!!! Thank you Southwest!!

I have booked our October 2006 flydrive last month. The flight I originally wanted was sold out 12th, 13th and 14th October 2006 so had to settle for a different airline as I wanted 12th October 2006!

Now I just have to wait for the 11 month window to book DVC!!

We are looking at fares now for May '06, but they seem much higher than what we have paid in the past around the same time. Any chance fares might go down or is this the cheapest they will most likely be for a May '06 trip?

Can you tell me more about the "2 for Disney" Visa ticket you mentioned? Is this through the Disney credit card? (I have that).
