Booked My First Tour & Have Questions

Just booked my first tour ever at WDW. Got the Around the World on a Segway tour at 7:45am. Am excited, but a little nervous about falling off. Is this a good tour to take? He said that cameras & video cameras were allowed on the tour. Is there a place on the front of the Segway to hold a camcorder in place to take video of the tour while you are on the Segway? Do the buses run that early to EPCOT or are we going to have to take a cab?

We had the early Segway tour and were able to catch the bus. I think we caught one about 7:15am or so. There is a basket on the Segway, but I don't remember there being anywhere to hold a camcorder. When we got to Italy, they let us have a little free time to go around and take pictures and stuff. I wouldn't worry about falling off. As long as you do what the instructors tell you, you'll be fine. We had a blast! Hope you do too!

Thank you for your response. When the CM was going over everything, he did mention that it states that the guests are responsible for their own transportation for the early morning tours, but thought there should be a bus and to check at guest services at POFQ.

Never trust what anyone says about the bus service except the CM in the purple pants!! We've had other CM's tell us they don't start until an hour before park time, etc. but the driver (we asked the day before the tour) when the buses started to run and he said 7-7:30am. They also need to take into account the breakfast ressie so yeah, they do run that early. Just confirm with a driver!

DH and I did the Segway on 10/3 and it was by far the highlight of our trip...and we did a lot this time around!

Just to be safe, we took a cab from all star movies to epcot. The cab was around $17 with tip. Just as we were pulling away in the cab though we did see a bus for Epcot come up to the resort so had we taken the bus, we would have certainly had plenty of time. That being said, next time we take the tour we'll probably cab over anyway.

Depending on the size of your camcorder, you should be able to put it into the backpack that's connected to the front of the segway. You really don't have that much time though to take pics...maybe 10-15 minutes and that's your only time to do a little zooming around on your own. So I'd just bring the camera if I were you.

DH and I did this on 9/29. We had a blast! DH can't stop talking about it. We will definitely do it again.

And don't worry, you won't fall off! Just be sure to pay attention to your surroundings and you'll be fine. We did have a guy in our group who ran into a concrete wall! He wasn't paying attention to where he was going and ran right into it. He didn't get hurt or anything. He just laughed and got back right back on.

My teenage son and his two buddies did this tour in March and they were so thrilled with it! My husband and I watched the first part of it in the training room, took some pics, and then we went off to ride Soarin' and get Fast Passes for us and them while they toured. The person in charge of the tour pointed out where they would return so that we could be waiting for them at the end. My son had his digital camera with him and took lots of pictures during the tour. You will have SOOOO much fun!
