Well after much debating, I just got off the phone with Loews and booked the HRH for one of my HHN trip's in October. I was gonna stay w/ Sheraton Studio City or Radisson Universal but both were running $99/night.

I called 1-800-Loews-11 and got the AP rate of $143.50 (Entertainment rate was unavailable. Rack rate was $220ish). I figured for the extra $45 I might as well stay at the best!! My original fear was that since I'm only 20 the minimum check-in age of 21 may be a problem. I asked the rep on the phone and was told two times thats it would "be hard to tell your age by looking at your credit card". So I doubt I'll have a problem.

Oh well, I'm pretty excited. I would have never stayed at HRH without all the good reports on this board....these boards are dangerous:) I hope I made a good choice and I'll give a full report of the parks, HHN, and HRH when I return.

:bounce: Have a great time, Jim!:bounce:

And you WON'T be disappointed.

I made the decision to try it out because of these boards, also. I just bit the bullet and reserved. I couldn't get the Ent rate for my dates also so I booked through hoteldiscounts.com.

I got buyer's remorse right away. :(

It took me one second after driving up to the HRH to know that I had made the right decision. And the FOTL... aweSOME!

For the meet on the 20th I'll be driving up during the afternoon and then probably just staying at the Clarion or someplace like that for the night. I'll be at HRH the weekend before. I was planning on staying at HRH the 19th and 20th but had to move that up a weekend because my parents are going on a cruise that weekend and I have to take care of the 5 dogs :(

Thanks for the reply Robin! I'm sure I'll love it especially because I'm into the whole hard / classic rock thing. I was just checking out Loews HRH website and the pics look amazing.

It's funny, my teen daughter wanted to stay our whole Easter break at the BC, since the HRH was so new and we didn't know much about it, but the promotion on this board and great E-rates made me give it a try for 3 nights.

So right, the drive up to the hotel is awesome! Hearing her and her friends absolute delight as we drove up made me realize I took the right chance. As a matter of fact, within 5 minutes of checking in they told us they didn't want to leave in 3 days. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in this place.

Have fun!

Jim, I know you have been waiting for this for a looooong time! Good deal. I am so happy to hear you finally did it! What a great time to be there to, you are gonna have a blast. Take lots of pics and dont forget we get a trip report:D

Aloha Jim,
I just know you are going to love it and you will probably appreciate it even more than some of us "older" fans. ;) I look forward to reading your comments after you stay there. Be sure to join the Loews club so you can get the benefits. Pretty sassy for a twenty year old! :D

Thanks everyone for the reassurement that I made a good choice. I'm so excited. The next two months of anticipation are gonna kill me:)

Donna- Thanks for reminding me about Loews First. I knew I was forgetting something. I just signed up on their site. An upgrade would be great, but with my luck will NEVER happen:) Don't worry I'll post a full report towards the end of October. October is always my biig vacation travel month because I can actually get time off work. This year I've got Howl-O-Scream at BGT, HHN and the HRH Oct. 12-14th, HHN again on Oct. 20th (for the meet), and then a trip to Chicago Oct. 25th-30th (may check out Fright Fest at Six Flags). Should be a great month. It'll be a nice break after all the 6 and 7 day work weeks I've had :)

Barry- With all my themepark trips in October, maybe I'll be able to compete w/ you for the worlds longest trip report title:)

My Decision to split my Holiday between the All-Star and the HRH has been purely based on the feedback on these boards.
Being based in New Zealand, I have little to work with as far as reviews go. It is easy to see glowing examples at Frommers, Lowells and other travel places.
However I believe DIS is of the People, by the People, for the Peoples and speaks volumes from an actual Guests firsthand experiences. In my mind, you find a better review than that!

the Legend, and I thought I had to travel far! I hope your jet lag is not horrible and that you enjoy every minute.
Aloha.
