Booked for August

Booked our flights last night, into Miami on 6th August, back from MCO on the 29th. My options Economy from MAN £924 Business class from MAN £1808 Booked Business class from Dublin £826pp:thumbsup2 Just need to get to and from Dublin now.:rotfl:

Woohoo, we've finally bitten the bullet and booked this deal as well although we decided to pay a little more and do DUB-MCO and MCO-MAN so the return home isn't three legs. In and out of jfk as that's the refit plane unlike the ord flight.

£1017 per person excluding one way to Dublin which is about £40pp

Excited now.

I looked at that option, it worked out at around £800 more for the 3 of us for our dates but totally understand you doing it.

Hopefully tonight I will get around to booking hotel near Dublin airport, found a good price(I think) at Bewleys, works out at £60 after cashback. We fly into MIA, don't know if I should stay in the airport hotel again or drive 45 mins towards Key West, better hotel, £45 less and less driving to do next day to KW.
Planning 2 trips, 12 hotels to book:crazy2:

Yeah, we're going to fly in the night before. I had to book through orbitz to get the right flights aa wouldn't allow me the return through jfk so have $50 in orbucks to spend on a hotel. I saw bewleys although it's a shuttle away, would ideally like right in the airport but I haven't been to Dublin before. It's sort of a blow out year as I turn 40 and we're going to have a year off next year for the first time in ten years!

So it's business class on this deal, Grand Floridian on that deal a couple of months ago and the cruise we booked but kept postponing years ago (same one you're on as it happens!)

Total for family of 4 should be around £10k which is disgusting when you think about it but considering Virgin holidays charge that much for just the flights these days I don't think it's too bad.

France or Canaries next year!

I used my Orbucks for our 1st night for our March trip, fly into Atlanta so found a hotel 30 mins south (driving to New Orleans next day) got a good hotel for £28 using Orbucks:thumbsup2

Are there any hotels onsite at Dublin? nearest I saw on last search I did was 0.9 miles away.

When I did map view it seemed to show two within the grey blob of the airport, possibly radisson blu and Hilton but can't remember, that's tonight's job. Booking flights last night took three hours of umming and arring before finally clicking buy. I was exhausted.

Hi Wayne, where you at with hotels in the keys?

Would really like Southernmost but at pains to lose £200 if we miss the connection into Key West as it's the last one that night. Currently have Best Western Hibiscus booked but still very much up in the air. Toying with getting a better hotel at Key West for a couple of nights then moving up to the Drop Anchor in Islamorada for the second part of the trip.

I booked flights on Saturday with flight center heathrow -jfk-jackson ville virgin delta flight , even booked the arrival night hotel at jacksonville I only paid 471.00 an adult flying 11th August to the 20 th thought this was a fantastic price for school holidays

Spent all weekend planning our Easter trip but also looking at hotels for August, no bargains out there as far as I can see. Southernmost is so expensive. Not sure what we are going to do. We have considered cutting it from 5 nights to 4 then staying further up the Keys a night.
I had a crazy Xmas in the business, flew to Holland for new Years eve, drove to Somerset for a Christening, busy since reopening and full of cold, I need a holiday to plan the holidays:rotfl2:

Been some great deals, not just Summer, our next flight to Atlanta only cost about £350pp but August I couldn't find any economy deal to fit our plans/dates (into south Florida, back from Orlando area) rather fly Business though so more than happy at £826pp in August.

Absolutely there's some cracking indirect prices out there right now.

Thanks Wayne, no I couldn't see much either. Figured if I booked something reasonable with free cancellation I can keep an eye out for a deal.

Wow that's one busy Christmas and New Year!

We are going via Dublin this August too.
Don't know much about the Dublin airport hotels so have booked rooms at The Premier Inn there for €39.
Gets good reviews on TA, 5 min shuttle to airport and have always had good experiences with PI:)

I looked at Premier Inn, similar distance as Bewley's but PI only accept 2 adults in a room so we would need 2 rooms there. For our date it is €45/room = €90 for 2 = £70.
Just booked Bewleys at £61 after cashback.

That's a pity...guess Matt's a bit big to pass for 15;)

6`3" and people think he is about 25 not 20. I was same when younger, never been ID'd in my life for alcohol.
No, definitely won't pass for 15 then!

Tall kids always get taken for being older - my youngest son is the same height as Matt (at 14) and the bus drivers try to charge him adult fare even when he is in school uniform so he has to carry ID with him to prove how young he is!

Surprised that you have never been ID'd though in all your trips to the US as I always get ID'd if we are buying beers etc in Walmart and have even been asked at the California Grill - but that might have been because DD was celebrating 21 and the waiter maybe thought it best to ask us all.

I was 26 on our 1st trip and always looked older than my years. Only time I am asked for ID is sometimes when I use a credit card, certainly not for age now I am 47:rotfl2:

Just booked 3 nights in an oceanfront double at the Islander Resort in Islamorada ... DH is a very keen fisherman so Islamorada appeals a lot. Free cancellation up to 72 hours before so still open to offers

What dates you booked? I am trying to book everything for out Easter trip then I can concentrate on August. I think we need 13 hotels now over the 2 trips, not an easy task.

4th and 5th at Best Western Hibiscus then 6th, 7th and 8th at the Islander Resort. Neither have resort fees and offer free wifi and parking which I grudge paying for.

Me too but cities & places like Key West you really struggle with reasonable parking fees, New Orleans we will be paying about $30/nt:scared1:
Free Wifi used to be a must for us but now we can use our UK allowance with Three so not as important.

We pass thru Islamorada on the 7th, put the kettle on :)
