We have now finally booked a long weekend at Sequoia Lodge at the end of July for us and my friend's family, using DVC points.

It will be my friend's birthday. Any suggestions on best place to have a birthday meal?

I am guessing the end of July will be really crowded. Any tips?

Susan

We went end July last year and yes it was crowded but with clever planning we hardly queued at all. The park hours were really long which really helped.
We made the most of EMH and found the evening a good time to get on rides like POC.
On a few days we had our main meal at lunchtime which was more relaxing and gave us a break in the middle of the day. Then when everyone was trying to eat in the evening we used that time for rides as well and just grabbed a snack later.
For your birthday meal: We really like Walts and Blue Lagoon

What dates are you going as Ive just realised we're staying at S Lodge end July as well. Cant remember exact dates but think its about 23-28th - its on When are you going thread. May poss see you there.

Woops no- we are there 21st to 25th. Good job I checked before setting off!!!

I'd recommend Walt's and Blue Lagoon too ~ unless you wanted a character meal, then I'd suggest Inventions at the Disneyland Hotel.

We went mid July last year and it wasn't too bad. It was a lot less crowded than we thought and we almost didn't queue at all.

Never had a meal at Walt's, we booked the table there to go on my bday but didn't make it as it rained all day and we were all petty miserable...
Had a lovely meal in Auberge De Cendrillon so maybe that's another idea...

Have yet to dine at Walts, but can highly recommend the Blue Lagoon or if your looking for a character meal and as you're there on the weekend I'd be tempted to say the Steakhouse brunch and order a Birthday Cake as well, just for the fun of it. :cheer2:
