Booked CSR.....now wondering!

what is the recommendation for which building to request, if i want
closeness to food court / main building and main pools !!

If you want to be close to the main building you would want the casitas

Cabanas put you close to the main pool ( by the way they make great margaritas)

I am not positve but to get both you are looking at Cabanas 8 or 9

I think I was in Cabana 8A .. it was VERY close to the pool.. (but I never heard anything).

This is why I always ate by the pool.. it was just so darned handy.

Count my family in as one of the negatives for CSR

When posters here say there are many postive posts, they fail to mention that you have a handful of posters that spam their CSR stuff non-stop.

You almost think they get paid by Disney

Anyway, we found CSR very poor. The convention folks ruled the resort. Normal guests were 2nd class citizens there. We had many problems with them at the main pool. They made the women there feel very very uncomfortable and we had to have lifeguards step in to assist.

Also the food court is rip off with the surcharge and we found the staff to be very rude compared to other disney resorts.

Again, each their own, but lets not paint CSR as the perfect resort. None of them are. Each appeals differently to each family.

But you can not ignore the fact that convention guests is their business and those guests can sure impact "normal" disney family in many negative ways. They sure did for our trip

It is the perfect resort for me. I hated POR. Shared buses with POFQ was terrible. I didn't care for their food court because it was just burgers and chicken fingers. I'll take CSR over POR anyday of the week.

But stay there, really, and give it a try. They do have privacy curtains.

I have a question that maybe you can answer:

Does the Pepper Market accept Disney Dollars as a form of payment? I know they are privated owned and this is why I ask. I asked Buzz before but he didn't know the answer as he has never used disney dollars. I have saved up over 200 in disney dollars.

The pool is great, the complex is vast, quiet at night. buses are frequent. no problems with mousekeeping. Maya grill was great.

Yes, it is sometimes weird that conventioners are suited up for business when you are a holidaymaker, but we just avoided Pepper Market at lunch However DH loved the food there! The cinamon rolls for breakfast are heavenly!

We had a 14 night stay, and had everything we needed. But lets face it, most folkdsgo to Florida for the thrills and theme parks and not to spend time around the hotel!

(We often got takeout and took it back to our room.)

With the millions of people that visit WDW as well as the thousands of CM's plus all of the people that post on the DIS, there are going to be both positive AND negative experiences posted about every single resort, restaurant and activity at WDW at some point or another.

I've seen unbelievable negative reviews of the GF, Poly, Contemporary, BC, YC, POR...the list goes on and on.

The bottom line is that for every person who posts a negative review there are hundreds of positive reports that never get posted.

We were at CSR at Christmas in 2005 and it is an awesome resort. Don't worry, go and have a great time!

If you look the Resort page there is a negative review of CSR and one that loved it. So it depends on what bothered the one that did not like it. If you have similar dislikes then possibly you won't like it either.

However you might agree with the person who did like it. It is very hard to say that your experience with convention guests will be the same as someone else's.

You might not even realize it is a convention resort. Other resorts can also have large groups even if they are not business people.

One of the nice things about CSR being a convention resort, they get added amenties that other moderate resorts do not have. Also the pools and buses tend to be less busy than other moderates.

I truly think you should try it for yourself and go with an open mind that you decide if you like it or not.

If it wasnt for my DH to be a conventioneer, we would probibly be at a value resort. So I am not complaining!

My next trip I will be staying at CSR for the first time and the only thing that makes me nervous is being far away in the Ranchos area. It looked like a resort built in a gravel pit when I toured through it last year. The other two areas are green and pretty though.

I know not everyone loves the Pepper Market but that is one of my favorite places to eat. I love the stations and having everything cooked fresh. We go to CSR for that reason alone. The busses were rarely full. Keep your ressie-you won't regret it.

You not alone. Many love the PM (and CSR) but only the squeaky wheel post on the DIS.

I talked to a good friend last night. I was really interested in her experiences because she was at CSR last week also. I helped her plan a lot of her trip but not the resort choice. After reading that other thread about how terrible CSR was last week, I really needed to know what she thought.
Well...she loved it. She was in a bldg close to a bus stop as well as a quiet pool. They went to the main pool every day. They were not in the casitas area because there were conventioneers put there for the most part.
According to her, they seldom even saw other people walking around the resort. The pools, both main and quiet ones, had few people in them. They found CSR to be quiet and peaceful. They ate breakfast at Pepper Market but few other meals. They did have a car so didn't use the buses.
She was astounded to hear of someone's having a miserable time there, at the same time she was there.
Does that negate bad, negative experiences? No, of course not. But, you will find many different views about the exact same resort, at the exact same time. Just thought I would share.

Well said! Glad she enjoyed CSR! To me it's hard to believe anyone could not enjoy CSR but your right about different views but I'll believe your friends to be more realistic.
