What else should I request? My DB and SIL and their kids are coming on this trip and I really want to have a great room. So what is best? Higher floor number or there any near the elevators? I'm a new owner at AKL but I'm staying there in dec and wanted a change.
Thanks for all your help
Tina

Higher floor will give a somewhat better view of fireworks. Farther from elevator will also give a better fireworks view. Enjoy!

On the other hand, closer to the elevators and lower floors will be more convenient.

The deal with BW is that the higher up floors farther from the elevator give you the best fireworks view. But there is only the one set of elevators. So either being close to the elevators, or on a low floor so that the steps aren't exhausting, is nice.

You can compromise and go for a mid level floor midway down the building :)

Most of the boardwalk view 2 bedrooms are above Big River & close to Jellyrolls.

Request high floor. There are none close to elevator and don't make that request because they will give you the 2BR that is nearest to elevator even though it is still two long hallways away, and that room is on the second (low) floor with solid wall railing that you cannot see over without standing up.

Are there stairs anywhere near there? I guess my question is how do I get to the boardwalk from there?

Stairs in the area of Boardwalk View Rooms:

Across From Room X001 - Stairs head out back towards Activity Lawn/Canal Area behind Jelly Rolls
Across From Room x017 - Stairs head out towards Luna Park Pool or Activity Lawn
Next to Room x047/x049 - Stairs head out to Village Green Behind Screendoor

there are multiple stairwells throughout the resort - shamus (of the famed "shamus' BWV room map" :thumbsup2) noted the 3 near BW view.

the 4th and 5th floors are quite a workout going up (down is easy-peasy). also, if anyone has difficulty walking or needs a stroller, the elevators are best.

lower floors don't have as good a view of illuminations (tho still a gorgeous view), and might be a bit noisier, but popping in & out to the BW in under a minute is fantastic (we happen to love the solid walled balconies on the 2nd floor for the privacy they afford...little ones and those who have difficulty standing cannot see as easily tho).
we haven't had noise problems from the BW itself in any BW room once the doors are closed, but some others have.
the one bank of BWV elevators are right off the lobby.

for first-timers (and first few), i would definitely suggest requesting higher floor - the view is jaw-dropping amazing :cloud9:
