It's our first time for our family, booked our res at AK for July, so right now I can't find deals. I understand that you can't share discount codes, but other than looking at the WDW site, is there someplace else I should be checking each day for codes? We didn't add meal plan because it seemed insane and I hope for a code for free meals. Should I add it now? We think we really only want 2 character meals but if we got more, I am sure my 7YO would enjoy it. 10YO not so much. I tried booking thru a TA but the prices they gave me were over 1500 more than my booking thru WDW site. This is a special trip for us as we never travel like this. It's our once in a lifetime deal so we decided to upgrade from value to AK. But if there's a way to save, we certainly could use it as we are traveling some other places in FL after Disney. We are driving so we can do tourist traps in KY. Anything we can save at DW would help. Which places should I be looking for deals?

I would suggest that you check out our Codes and Rates forum: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=93

Summer months are less likely to have many discounts, and probably not free dining. Disney is already busy and their rates are higher during those months because of that. They don't need to offer as many discounts to fill the rooms. You may be able to find a room only discount. But be prepared to change resorts or room category because sometimes the discount offered is not available for the resort/room you wanted.

Congrats & Happy Planning

You will love AKL - Sometimes they offer a 20% room only discount in late Spring. :thumbsup2

How exciting! I hope some codes come your way.

You might consider buying a single AP and a Tables in Wonderland card instead of the dining plan. It depends on how many meals you're going to get. But if you have a spreadsheet and time, you can get the meal prices off of allearsnet and simulate your eating experience with and without a TiW to find out if it's worth the cost. And the AP might get you a room discount.

Thanks, everyone! We just decided to go with it and hope there's fairy dust on our side. LOL. I don't know who is more excited, us or the kids! :) It's a first for everyone so we are thrilled to be able to go. Our TA is amazing, I am so happy we have her! I was nervous putting it into someone's hands because that is my personality, but so far it's been a great decision!
