I booked a three bedroom at Cypress Pointe it looks great and the locations sounds great but my problem is that I read alot of different things about CP and now I am worndering if I am going to be disappointed when we get there.
It will be five of us and a three bedroom is what we wanted. {everyone gets a bed!} I was on another site and things like there are no doors on the bathrooms, could this be??? What is a lock off, I am a new timesharer and not use to the lingo could someone help calm my nerves just a little?? We are traveling in Feb.{I know,I know a while away but I can't wait!} Also is the weather nice this time of year?? This board seems to have sooooo much more info then the one I was one. Can anyone also tell me what else is near CP?? Thanks sooo much :earsgirl: :sunny:

it is about 2 blocks down and across the street from hotel plaza at the end of which is DD.

I think you will be fine.

I have only heard nice things about CP.

when I was comparing it to a Marriott - the Marriott won - but that is a Marriott.

It is a nice place!

I read lots of good things as well----we are booked to stay there Aug. 25th for a few days (first time ever).

Are you at the CP-Grand Villas or the CP-Resort? The differences I've gleaned from this board (which are hopefully correct)

CPGV is newer but CPR has just had fully renovated rooms and everything is beautiful.

CPR, in the master bathroom, does not have a separate door for the potty area; just a half wall the potty hides behind. If you want total privacy you have to lock the master bedroom door.

Lock-off: this is a timeshare term. You have a two bedroom suite. You have a one bedroom suite. There's a door that locks off between the two---when it's open you have a 3 bedroom suite.

If you go the CP website you can look at the floor plans and photos.

HTH!!!

We stayed at Cypress Pointe in January and it was very nice. I think a lockoff means you will have one 2 bedroom unit and one 1 bedroom unit that have connecting doors. Our 2 bedroom unit was quite large, so with the two units together you should have plenty of space. You would also have two "master" bedrooms with the jacuzzi tubs.

Here is a website with the floorplans - http://cypresspointe2.com/floorplans.html

It's very close to Downtown Disney (about 10 blocks) and very quick to get to the parks, but you will have to rent a car. It wasn't very hot in January, and I think the same can apply in February. There was a pool and a hot tub, but only the hot tub sounded good when it is 50 degrees at night. Take a coat!!

There is a Winn-Dixie supermarket just a few blocks away, and lots of restaurants etc. as I don't really like cooking on vacation.

If you really want to get into time shares check out the "time share user's group" http://www.tug2.net/

It costs $15 a year and has thousands of resort reviews from all over the world including most of them in orlando. There are also resales and rentals on the site. It's been most useful when I exchange my timeshare for others around the world.

Cypress Point scores a 8.6 out of 10 on the TUG review page. although I saw some reviews that make it a 9 out of 10.

PS. I think there were doors everywhere!

Thanks guys, to dis - happy we are staying at the older part{not the Grand Villas} so a lock off is really 2 units put together?? Not two kitchens right just the rooms. I hope my other half is okay with this and I don't get the trip started off with a bang. I think it would be cool for my 14 year old son to have his own space.
Mwerner- is it really that chilly in Feb?? But it usually is colder at home {NY} at this time so it wouldn't be that bad.{hopefully} Just looking to do some parks were we don't have to sweat! From CP would you be able to walk to down town?? You guys helped put my mind at ease a bit thanks

I love Cypress Pointe. The units were recently redecorated and I think they did a great job. I like no door on the master bath. You can watch the morning news on TV from the whirlpool tub :-). The second "master" is a good size room with the tub in the middle. Anyone using the tubs in either room will need to lock the main door to the bedroom for privacy. There are two exterior doors, one leading into each part of the condo. One door inside connects the two parts. You'll have 4 tvs (one a big screen with DVD player), a washer/dryer, two balconies and THREE bathrooms. I'll never stay in a hotel room again if I can get a condo instead.

You will need a car to get around. A couple of restaurants are a 5 minute walk away. Disney World & Downtown Disney is a 5-7 minute car trip.

Daytime temps in February are typically comfortable. I always seem to need my polartec 100 pullover after 7PM.

There are many cheap dining options near Cypress Pointe:
Joe's Crab Shack (huge shrimp dinners for around $10)
Orlando Ale House (good food and beer for less than $10)
New York China Buffet (I love the variety and price - $7 for lunch). Lots of fruit and even frozen yogurt for the kids.
Cici's Pizza - great for the kids. All you can eat pizza, salad and pasta buffet for $3.99 (food is of acceptable quality but not great)
Steak & Shake - closeby and cheaper than Disney in a fun atmosphere

Just can't say enough nice things about Cypress Point Resorts, we stayed there this last February. As was mentioned in the above post everything is new and yes they did a great job! My family of 4 loved the condo and the property. As for the weather is was a little cool (not cold) in the morning, jacket type weather and then warmed up nicely by mid morning and around 7 or so the temp dropped and we need to pull out the jackets again. I must say the weather was really nice we live in the midwest (Missouri) and it was snowing when we left the airport.
Don't worry you'll be glad you picked it. It's a great location. Have a great trip!!! :wave2:

We've stayed in both parts of the 3 bedroom. We used a 2 bedroom in April, and spent 3 nights in the studio at Cypress Pointe (not Grand) in July. The studio has a fridge, coffee maker and should also have a microwave, while the full kitchen is in the 2 bedroom portion. I loved the surround sound and the patio in April. I'm sure you'll be satisfied, and where could you beat that price on hotelkingdom for all the room?

Nothing to worry about! I live with one of the pickiest men on the continent and he had no complaints about CP. The layout is great--really roomy living area and kitchen is well laid out too.

As I recall, the way the layout was is that we walked in the front door and the kids bedroom was off to the side, and to the other side was the door to the lockoff studio which we were not renting so stayed locked of course. It is like a connecting room in a hotel, you know? So, for you that door would be open.

The main bathroom has a door, it is just that the bathroom in the master BR suite is all just one big open space to the bedroom. The toilet itself as well as the shower are sort of around a little corner, but there is not actually a door or even full wall between the bedroom area and the bathroom. A little weird, but for privacy you can always use the other bathroom.

This is a nice resort in a GREAT location. Tons of restaurants just down the road at the crossroads shopping center.

We are going in Feb too. We like the weather then adn even go to the beach!! We are from MN so it is warm to us even if the natives think we are nuts!

I'm leaving soon for CP. It seems fine. This is actually our off site portion of our trip, and then we will go onsite the 2nd week. (free dining )

While at CP, we will do Disney Quest, drive to Universal/Seaworld and other places.

I'm so excited to hear all these great things, thanks to the OP for the post. We are leaving for our first Cypress Pointe vacation in under 3 weeks, and I booked our trip there because of all the great things I had read from the DIS. Thanks for all the great info guys!

Kelly

Welcome!!!
We stayed in Jan. 05 at CPGV. In a 2 bedroom w/ a lock out. The weather was great,
the resort was great. We had 6 people, and had plenty of room (2 were kids). The bathroom doors we not a problem. My Dad is 'PICKY" and he loved it. Quiet and small not alot of action. Very nice and new and clean!!! Enjoy!! Any question? I will try and answer!!

We stayed in a 3 bdrm at CP in April and LOVED it! It was me, DH, 2 kids and my MIL. She loved having her own space (she had the studio part to herself). The unit is very roomy, clean, and convenient to restaurants and WDW. We cooked a few times and felt the kitchen was pretty well equipped too. We would definitely stay here again... :flower:

Have a great trip! :sunny:

ps. Forgot to add, we requested a ground floor unit via email to the resort a few days before our arrival since there are no elevators...and we got it. Glad we didn't have to haul our luggage up the stairs, or for that matter, ourselves at the end of a long day at WDW, LOL!!

I want to thank everyone who gave me so much info, I'm feeling better about our 2nd family trip. I hope if anyone else who stays at CP will continue to give me the good things. thanks again!! :wave2: :cheer2:

Which e-mail did you use? We're getting a 3-bedroom in a month and I would like to make some requests too. Are all the rooms non-smoking? Are any buildings quieter than the rest? -- I don't want to be near the pool.

Thanks :)

WE stayed there in January. Check my sig line for links to pics and my 'while we were there' posts. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Cypress Pointe in a three bedroom in July. We loved it! There was seven of us, and we all had plenty of room. We had never stayed offsite before, but it was so nice to have a bedroom to ourselves. I can't say enough nice things about it. Have fun! :sunny:

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier, amw! I've looked but I can't find the email address that I used to contact them in March...I also notice that the CP website that I used to access has either changed or is no longer available. I can only find one for CPVG now. Perhaps you could call them directly. Good luck!

does anyone know if the pool is heated? do they have any other on site amentities such as a restaurant of putt putt? do they have a shuttle to disney or access to the ID trolley. thanks........
