I recently booked a value studio at AKV. When I booked the CM ws surprised it was available since it was the weekend following Thanksgiving but told me to grab it. Shorthly thereafter I read on here that there are very few value studios or even studios currently available at AKV in general since the construction of the new DVCs is not complete (didn't realize the count was low when this when I booked). Now if you try and book on-line it says all the AKVs are booked for that weekend and this is just days after I booked!

Is there a chance we will be bumped from our room b/c we are not DVC owners right now? I am a bit afraid that the resort may have overbooked the studios? We really wanted to check out the villas (and my parents are already booked in Savannah view room there as well). I

First of all, DVC and general bookings come from two different inventories.
Second, if you did get bumped, the only scenario I've ever heard of is getting an upgraded room for the same price. :smokin:

The chance is there but VERY remote. And as noted, Disney usually handles these things well and you often end up far better off if you are "bumped".

If I understand you correctly, you booked AKV value studio through CRO? If that is true, I agree that is odd. There are only 12 (8 dedicated) total value studio available. May I ask how much the room cost?

Thanks for the reassurance everyone! I booked it namely b/c it had the kitchen and we have two small children! Plus I like the idea of the girls sleeping in the pull-out since it is lower to the ground and has the armrests which can act as rails.
The CM on the phone was surprised it was available. He was also surprised it was less than a standard view room in the lodge (although not by much). Since he made such a big deal about there being one available I got a bit nervous and started researching the studios and found there were very few. Of course the Disney website now states that there are none available the dates we are traveling. Maybe there was just the one I booked available for cash? Hope it all ends well!

You do realize the studio doesn't have a kitchen, just a microwave, small fridge and coffee maker. To get the kitchen with stove and dishwasher, you have to get at least a 1BR. Maybe you do know this, but didn't want you to be disappointed when you didn't get a "kitchen".

Can't get "bumped" ~ this is not an airline. Disney does not sell more rooms than they have available. OMG - could you even imagine the chaos??

Now, an upgrade is always a possibility!
