Well that the flights sorted out - flying out 24th September from Glasgow for 14 nights with US Airways - have bought the theme park tickets from orlandoticketdeals which seemed to offer the best rates and also booked the 1st 6 nights at Disney All Star Movies (couldn't book longer as had to keep to the September deals :) )

Now just need to decide where to stay for the next 8 nights - would love to stay at a Universal resort for FOTL but how can I get the best rates?

Any advice appreciated!

If you ask the questions over at the Universal resort board people would love to answer. We bought A AP to save on Universal it was only 160.00 for an AP. And there hotels are comparable to the deluxes at Disney. The rate are about the same as you would get a a Disney Deluxe with a discount. I think the cheapest we got at Universal was 119.00 for RPR. So if your staying at a Value this may not be in your budget. We only stayed at RPR for 3 nights and stayed at ASM for 7 nights. I think eight nights at Universal may be to much but this is just my thoughts. KELLY

I agree w/Kelly that you don't need to spend that much time @ Universal. About three nights is all you'd need. Were you going to use it as a "home base" while you do other attractions? Are you still trying to do Tampa, or just Orlando? Have you thought about Vero Beach? I think it's about a two hour drive from Orlando and there were some pretty decent rates @ the Disney Resort located there. Let me know if you want more info. Glad everything is coming together for the trip!

Well here are my thoughts....staying the 6 nights at all star movies then thinking of getting a hire car - maybe pick this up at disney car care but don't know how easy this is to do?

After that maybe spend a few days at a Universal Resort and the rest at something like Radisson Parkway - does anyone know anything about this hotel?

The car will allow me to do Busch Gardens and maybe Kennedy a bit easier :) I plan to get a town car from the airport to the Disney resort when I arrive.

You might want to consider spending one night in Tampa as it will be a pretty long day driving to Busch Gardens and then spending all day at the park. Have never stayed @ Radisson Parkway...sorry! As far as the rental car, you shouldn't have any problems getting one @ the Car Care Center. I believe they are also available at the Dolphin which would be another option at WDW.
