We are booked AKV concierge.

What is the sunset safari and is it worth it??

Never did the Sunset (Wanyama??) Safari, but the Sunrise Safari was great. It was in in depth version of the regular Kilimanjaro Safari, followed by the most incredible breakfast ever served.

The Sunset I believe includes dinner at Jiko, which is great in itself.

We haven't done the Sunset either but from what I've read the safari takes place on the grounds of AKL followed by a wonderful dinner at Jiko served family style.

I've seen posts about it on the resort board.

We will be doing this December 1. It is expensive but includes dinner at Jiko's.
I've done the safari on the hotel grounds before but as a private tour, not the package deal. It was wonderful! The only way you will ever see the lodge from the point of view of the animals on the savanna. The keepers are great and full of knowledge about all the animals on the savanna. We loved that tour. It's the reason we are doing the official tour on Dec. 1.

It is for a very small number of people, too. Max is 14. Sign up as soon as you can if you want it.
