Hi Disney experts......

I booked a trip through Disney - did the online check in - etc etc I am all set - woo hoo!!!
My original booking is through POP Century, 8/29/15-9/4/15 with a 6 day park hopper. 9/4/15 (my check out day) is my 6th park day. Plans changed and we decided to stay on 9/4/15 and leave FL on 9/5/15. I tried to change my reservation through Disney, however nothing was available for me to add the last night onto my trip.

I went on hotels.com and found a room at POR-Riverside (Royal Guest Room) for much cheaper than what Disney website was offering - so I booked it (figuring my kids would get a kick out of staying there on our last night). So after we check out of POP on 9/4/15 - we are headed right to MK to spend the day (using our last park ticket). Then that night we are going to POR to check in for the night.

My question is - is there a benefit to booking that one night through Disney rather than Hotels.com?

For one night, there's probably not a big benefit. The advantage of booking through Disney is that you do not have to pay more than one night (your deposit I believe) ahead of time. Or you can space out your payments. If you book through Hotels.com/Orbitz/Insert your favorite online location here you have to pay it all up front. It's not too bad if you're only doing one night, but when you're looking at a week or more then Disney's higher price/increased flexibility starts to look more attractive.
