Okay this is our first ever trip to Disney. What type of bag do I bring with us to Disney. We have 2 small kids... ages 4 and 5. And what do you bring with you into the parks. Anyone bring a camcorder, or would that be a mistake?

We take a backpack (Jansport). Since we're now stroller free (my youngest is 5) this works great for us. I toss in a couple bottles of water, light jackets for us all, my credit card, room keys from our hotel, park maps, antibacterial wipes, baggies for unfinished snacks, autograph books, pens, tylenol (I get headaches!) and bandaids. I don't bring a camcorder because ours is a little large and not worth lugging around! I've seen many smaller ones though and they look easy to carry. We do bring our camera which has a movie option on it. I also bring an extra memory card too since I take way too many pictures! HTH! :goodvibes

My bag of choice for touring is the Donner bag from Overland equipment it has a built in pocket on each side for a water bottle and is easy to carry. I wouldn't try to pack too much since it causes headaches at the bag search area when entering the parks. Of course, I usually don't end up using half the stuff I carry in.

Try to travel light because it's a long day with lots of walking.

BUT...

I've found Walt Disney World to be very accommodating to those who (like me) need to lug along a camcorder, a backpack, or something of that sort. For example, you can bring such things with you on most rides (at your own risk, of course).

We have a fairly small camcorder with shoulder bag, a very small point-n-shoot with belt pouch, and our very-touristy belt packs that we bring with us every day at the parks. The biggest problem has been feeling a little foolish having to find places to put all that stuff when we're at a sit-down restaurant...then realizing that the people eating at the other tables are dealing with the same problem, so don't worry about it. :)

I am putting you over here on the Disney for Families.......alot of good answers here I am sure..

We use an LL Bean Backpack.....just a regular one...we put in sweat shirts if we are going to the parks for supper and nighttime....we always bring our disney rain slickers flattened of course.....and we put in our camera and baby wipes....all comes in handy.....some times we put in our refillable mugs so we dont have to go back to the room to get them after being in the parks.....

I use a drawstring backpack that I bought from the Pop century gift shop. It's great for a couple of dollars..(yeah right..LOL) credit card, small wallet, camera, autograph book, and sometimes I bring a spare pair of flip flops. It's great because it's collapse-able and I can throw it in the washer.

I have a Donner bag that I really like too although I didn't use it as my primary bag at WDW. I've used mainly a backpack in the past. I packed extra clothes, wipes/hand sanitizer, autograph books, snacks, drink boxes, water, etc. We brought our stroller so we would just leave the bag (no valuables in it) in the stroller when we went on rides. I had a separate small camera bag that held my camcorder and digital camera as well as money/tickets. Now that I have a pretty small camcorder I don't mind bringing it with me. I like to tape parades and shows for the kids to watch when we get home as well as capture any magical moments.

We use a back pack that we bought for 15 at walmart in the camping section so it has lots of pockets. In it you will find:

Water
Change of clothes for kids
Wipes
sunscreen
camera
Snacks (fruit snacks, granola bars, for the kids in lines)
bandaids
Neosporin
autograph books
light up spinners
glow sticks

that's all I think, I am sure that is not all.

We've been to WDW a bunch of times with DD between 3.5 and 5.5. My pared-down list:

change of clothes and small handtowel - flattened in a gallon ziploc

quart ziploc with meds/health items - tums, ibuprofen, tiny brush, sunscreen, antibacterial handwash, bandaids, shout wipes, hair clip, lip balm, kleenex

quart ziploc with snacks (no dining plan) - gummie snacks, yogos, granola bars. (I used to take healthier snacks but grapes/apples got smushed/bruised and yogurts I couldn't keep cold)

Autograph book/pen

5 bottles of water and carabeener/strap for holding

camera/camcorder

mini fan (2) - one with a flashlight, one with a mister

hats / sunglasses for all (3)

Minnie ears

glow sticks (saved my bacon one night in a long line to see princesses! we passed them out to everyone near us!)

I've never had to use the spare clothes, towel, or shout wipes - everything else is fine.

I used to carry: jacket/sweatshirt for DD (for a winter trip would probably re-add), games for DD (she's older now and entertained by reading maps and playing with the fans), more snacks/juice boxes (in a cooler bag)

I carry a wallet sized baggallini with KTTW cards, ID, cc, money, etc. I also keep my camera/batteries/memory cards in there. My DH carries an eddie bauer back pack with water bottles, misting fan, first aid kit, ponchos, snacks, wipes, and a change of clothes for DD. DD carries a small tink backpack (that mostly stays in the basket under the stroller) with glowsticks, autograph book, little princess figures (to entertain her at restaurants), and a little treat (like a lollipop). Despite her age, we also still bring a stroller to Disney (Maclaren) because even though she never uses it at home, we would rather not deal with the meltdowns if she is tired and doesn't have a place to rest during the day.
