Book with PIN Code for someone else?

I would like to give the gift of Disney to my mother and her boyfriend this year. The highlight of her life (so she says!) was going to Disney with me and my brother and my father 10 years ago. She and her current boyfriend booked a trip about 2 1/2 years ago, but had to cancel because she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She would love to go back, but right now they can't afford the trip.

My husband and I would love to surprise them with a trip to Disney World. I have a PIN offer for 30% off the rack rate and I would love to use that to send my mom and her bf to Disney for 5 days. Can I use the PIN code to book and pay for the room, but the room would be under her name and her boyfriend's name? I myself would be paying for it, so I don't know how that would work. It might just be safer to go for the 4/3 deal, but I know he can't get much more than 5 days off of work at a time (he's self-employed) so the deal wouldn't work out so well.

Please let me know if anyone has done this, and if this is acceptable Disney policy - gifting a vacation with a PIN code.

To my knowledge the person whose name the pin code is under also has to be checking in the resort. So, if you guys are not going with them, it would not work. Sorry.

Nope. Pincodes are guest specific. If it was sent to YOU then YOU must be on the res and YOU must check in. Sorry.

Aw, well thank you anyway, everyone. I can't afford the reg prices and I wanted to do something nice for my mom, but I'll have to wait until next year I suppose...

Could you sign them up to receive a disney vacation planning video? In some cases, that prompts possibly receiving some discount offers.

There is a room only code out that seems to be a pretty good deal and then getting tickets from Undercover Tourist through the mousesavers newsletter would save some more money and would probably give you almost as good of a deal as the 4/3 deal since the cost of 7 days of park tickets is not that much more than 4 days. It might be something to check into before you give up on it altogther.

My sisiter got a PIN code last year and was able to book a room for our parents with no problem. My parent's arrived early four our trip, and they stayed at CBR for 2 nights with the code, and then we all used the code for the BWV. They were two seperate ressies and my sister was not at the CBR to check them in. I don't think it is a problem. Call and ask!

To my understanding, the op is not planning on going on the trip. It's just her mother and friend. That is the difference.

I called and the CM told me that you guys were right, I would have to check in to use the PIN code, and I'm not about to go on a vacation with my mom and her boyfriend!!! Hahaha...

Hopefully next year I can afford the trip for them. Until then, I've casually mentioned to my mom to sign up for the Disney DVD, just to see what's going on this year.... maybe a PIN code will go HER way, eh?

Hi DSis! Yep, this is exactly what I did - no problems whatsoever. Maybe they don't allow it anymore?

It probably can't hurt to call & ask!
