My Niece really loves reading, so I thought I'd give her some books for Christmas. What are 7 year old girls reading now a days?

Probably most of the stuff you liked as a kid!

anything by Beverly Cleary
The Magic Treehouse series
Little House on the Prairie
the Chronicles of Narnia series
books by Bill Wallace (most are about dogs or other animals)

so many books... so little time!!

Judy Moody I think thats it. Ameila Bedeila I am not sure of either of these spellings. the Tinker Bell Series I have seen these at Target.

Kae

My DD liked the following at that age:

Junie B Jones series
The Boxcar Children series
Magic Treehouse series
The Borrowers
Baily Schoolkids series
Geronimo Stilton series
A to Z Mysteries series
anything by Beverly Cleary
The Magic Schoolbus series
Weird School series
anything Berenstain Bears

My 7yo adores the Laura Ingalls Wilder "Little House" series. They were my favorite when I was 7 too. They sell a great box collection of all 9 books at most book stores for $30-$40.

How about the American Girl series?
Diary of a Spider etc
Pony Pals
Henry and Mudge
The Chocolate Touch
The Case of the Cafeteria Lunch

These are some suggestions from my DD7

My daughter likes all the Nancy Drew books and also the Harry Potter books.

My son reads Captain Underpants.

I'm not sure if girls read those or not though, but he thinks they are hysterical.

He also likes the A to Z mysteries.

i used to love The Velveteen Rabbit when i was younger. and i loved the Winne the Pooh books too.

My daughter is reading the "Magic Tree House" books and "Junie B. Jones" like crazy right now!

Island of the Blue Dolphins
The 21 Balloons

The Adventures of Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren
The Children of Noisy Village by Astrid Lindgren

Both of the Lindgren series have several different books with the same characters.

Add me to the list of moms whose daughters love Junie B. Jones and The Magic Treehouse series. My DD (almost 7) also really enjoys the Disney Fairies, American Girl (especially Samantha's books) and Amelia Bedelia series.

She read the entire Captain Underpants series, but I think that was mostly because her brother was reading them. Same for the Weird School series.

My daughter loved Junie B Jones
And Franie Stein(I think it was the name) about an evil(not really evil) mad girl scientist.

We have an avid reader too!!
A to Z Mysteries
Boxcar Series
Shel Silverstein Poetry
Magic Treehouse
Bailey School Kids
My Weird School
Disney Fairies
Junie B. Jones

Franny K. Stein books by Cornelia Funke are funny with lots of adventure. A lesser known series is Cam Jansen. She's a girl who solves mysteries.

When I volunteer at the school library, most of the girls are taking out:

American Girls
Magic Tree Houes
Bailey School Kids
Amazing Abby
Beverley Cleary
