Book Suggestions anyone?

I just read a great book, Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. It is a psychological thriller/mystery and has some great plot twists. I really liked it a lot.

I also really like James Patterson, especially his Alex Cross books.

Not exactly like witches, fantasy, etc. It was sort of depressing. my son didn't like it. We listened to it on audiotape, and it starts out with the Boudelay children (3), becoming an orphan.

Then they wind up living with Count Olaf, a very creepy distant cousin. Count Olaf comes off as a perv! He actually tries to marry the oldest child (at 14/15) so he can get to the family fortune.

The disclaimer in the beginning says its depressing with a lousy ending. I thought the author was being ironic or satiric, but it really was a depressing book with a lousy ending. I can't say that I wasnt warned!

The Art of Mending by Elizabeth Berg was the last book that I read that I couldn't put down. It's about mother-daughter reconciliation.

Bobbi:D

I read that too.

My NEW Author now is Harlan Coben--OMG he is soooo Good!::yes:: I have read about 3 of his books so far, the newest one being "Tell No One." He is a kind of writer that you cannot put down!::yes:: Some of his first books has to do with Sports, but the last 3-4 are not, they are a real page turner!

Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I have also read The Da Vinci Code and look forward to reading Deception Point and Digital Fortress also by Dan Brown.

After reading Da Vinci and A&D I have become interested in grail lore and secret societies so I just got Holy Blood/Holy Grail by Michael Baigent and The Templar Revelation by Picknett & Prince.

I'm also and avid Star Wars novel reader and other Sci-fi/fantasy reader. The Mars Trilogy (Red Mars, Blue Mars, Green Mars) by Kim Stanley Robinson are really great (very technical but a great read).

Good luck and enjoy :wave2:

I also read Rule of Four. I had a hard time with that one.

I'm sorry I cant read much anymore. My textbooks are now taking over.

I looove books. DBF works at Barnes and Noble (he's finishing his last semester of college), so he is always bringing me stuff home with his discount :)

I just finished all of the Lemony Snicket books, too- very good and really quick reads. He does come off like a perv in that first one! But as you read the other ones, you see it's all about the fortune and not because of anything... well... you know. The new one comes out September 21!

I also read the Rule of Four because I read the Dan Brown books and all of the reviews I read said "If you like Dan Brown, you'll love this!"
Um, I didn't.

Wicked was really good- it's the Wizard of Oz from the Wicked Witch of the East's Point of View. Did you know Glenda and the WWotE were college roomies? ;) Just got Confessions of a Wicked Stepsister, but haven't read it yet.

Okay, well... I'll stop rambling now.
:o
