Book store?

Does anybody know the closest book store to SSR? The last Harry Potter is coming out in the middle of our vacation in July. I would love to run and pick it up. My guess is I could always run to Walmart or Target also....right??

There's no longer a book store in DTD. The closest thing would be the scrapbooking store, but when I was in there a few months ago, all they had was a selection of books about various aspects of Disney - biographies of Walt, books about imagineering, children's storybooks, etc.

WalMart will definitely have the book, and I know there's one near WDW. I'm sure someone here will be able to provide directions.

I think it possible that Virgin Megastore on the Westside od DTD might have it or, there is a Barnes & Noble on Sand Lake Road (take Apopka Vineland to Sand Lake & make a right) or a B Dalton on I-Drive between the Bee Line & Sand lake or a Borders Outlet on 535 just past the 417 intersection.

OR pre-order it from Barnes & noble & have it shopped to the hotel. Only problem there is you don't know wxactly when it will ship.

Target or Wal-Mart will probably be cheaper anyway.

Oh, geez, I forgot about Virgin Megastore! Yes, I'm sure they'll have it. I always think of the Marketplace when someone says DTD, I rarely go over to the West Side, so I forget that it's there.

Sorry, I stand corrected. There is indeed a bookstore at DTD.

Much to my dislike, Virgin has downsized their bookstore inventory greatly. Whereas it used to be the whole upstairs area (pretty much), it is now only a very small portion of the upstairs. I was there 3 weeks ago. The store is mostly cd's, dvd's and lots of other merchandise other than books.

There's also a tiny bookstore, the "Writer's Stop" in MGM by the Sci Fi.

There is also a Books a Million website that you can preorder it from. The last Harry Potter book came out right before a vacation for me and I was able to overnight it to make sure it was here the day it came out. But I'm sure you could have it delivered to the hotel with or without the overnight shipping.

My advice would be to head to the malls. The mall at Millenia has a Borders and there's a Barnes and Noble and a Borders near the Florida Mall. Celebration now has a new bookstore but it's small so I can't say they'd have it for sure.
If you won't have a car, I'd consider ordering it and having it shipped to your resort.

I think the gift shop at the exit to Tower of Terror stocks the Harry Potter books, so you might be able to pick up the new one without even interrupting your vacation! The bad thing is that you will probably pay full price,; the good thing is that you can charge it to your room!

If you are flying in, there is the bookstore right in the airport, too. I think it's a Borders...
