Supposedly early booking but you have to have at least one guest on points.

The early booking opportunity applies to stays between March 1 and May 4, 2022. The $95 Disney Collection exchange fee applies. DVC points must qualify for Membership Extras in order to be used toward this booking.

Not sure if its accurate or not.

That’s really disappointing. I would rather save our points and pay cash. I love that they have not announced how many points it’s going to take.

edited: we have never traded out to the Disney collection. Can I use our newer (bought 2021) resale points for this or would I have to use our direct & grandfathered points?

also is this a strategy to use up the glut of DVC points that so many members are sitting on?

Direct or resale points purchased before 2012.

That’s what I thought. Hate to use vgf/bcv points but we’ll see what we decide!

Would love to see the point cost - booking starts in under a week. This would be a great detail to know.

Not really, because the use of points in the exchange removes an equal value of units from being able to booked on points. Those units move to cash reservation.

What a deal, waste a ton of points on one person and a bunch of cash, or just rent the same amount of points and probably cover the costs. This is a cruise on land. Don’t fall for the gimmicks.

I'm really anxious to see reports from those who stay at this star rip resort. we are taking bets in the family, .some think EPIC fail, others think it will be only for celebrities' who come and do shows in the park, and the uber wealthy to dump their kids. we shall see.

Honestly the problem is going to be that it is fundamentally a LARP so your guests need to be ready to lean into it. If your group all want to watch it may be less than compelling.
So much this. It really requires buy-in to the story and participation by the guests. One can hope that those paying for it are willing to join in.

I, for one, am excited for this concept, if not for the price, and I hope it IS successful and that Disney embraces more of an interactive model going forward. Maybe bring back the idea of the Beast Land (I much prefer calling it “The Land of Creatures That Never Were”), but also bring back the Adventurers Club, and then set up that land to be like Evermore Park in Utah, but with all the Imagineering and immersiveness Disney could provide, where you get initiated into the Adevnturers Club and then go off on grand adventures!

If the point conversion isn’t awful, we might consider it, but we’re limited to April 20 & April 22 for those dates, which I imagine will be popular and expensive. Also, our oldest isn’t really into the idea, so we were actually considering end of August after he starts college (though that humidity!), especially as our Anniversary is August 24 and there’s a departure that day.

All that said, I strongly suspect it is NOT in our cards for 2022, as we already have several big vacations planned AND with my oldest starting college, it’s probably on hold for now. But I do want to give it a try if it lives up to the hype.

For booking, what phone number should AP holders/Visa card holders call? I know DVC members wanting to book on points call MS but we’d rather pay cash for early booking via our other affiliations.

Do AP and Visa holders get an early booking window? I am both, but only got the email for DVC.

We didn’t get an AP email but I’ve seen others posting they did. Multiple bloggers reporting early AP booking starting 10/7. Visa chase holders are getting some sort of early booking window but no details released- my assumption is it will be same day/time based on prior Disney event releases but I could very well be wrong.

edited to add: the lack of information and apparent disorganization regarding booking a hotel that has been years in the making is beyond aggravating. It feels like they could have had this mapped out but instead it feels duct taped together at the last minute.

Yeah, this is a renaissance festival, except instead of costing $15 to enter, it costs $15,000. I don’t think it’s going to stand the test of time.

I think where issues are going to occur are people who book who are not going to lean into the wear a costume and do the plot. For what is being paid they will want a show, not participation.

Or rich grandparents who buy the room but who have thought they can just bring the kid and the cast will basically babysit.

I can think of a lot of problematic cases, and many emerge in part because at that price point people have expectations that I don't think this experience is designed to. It isn't a 2+ day show you can just wander in and out of.
