I know we have one of these all the time, but... I need some book recommendations. :p

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't suggest Twilight, Gossip Girl, etc...

I'm currently reading A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway, if that's any indication of the kind of books I like.... Other favorites of mine include The Birth of Venus, Smack, Born Standing Up, and And Then There Were None.

There's not really a certain genre I prefer. Maybe a good mystery? Definitely not sci-fi, though. :)

Thanks!

definately Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti!!! I love thier books. They are classified under mystery and fantasy. But they are really really cool books

Although I haven't finished, A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks is amazing.

I really love the Blue is for magic series. It's kind of mystery esque but not really. It's got a lot of weird witchcraft magic-ish I love it.

ooooooo The Lovely Bones is AMAZING!! it's so good.

the Both sides of time series is really good too. It's time traveling but not scifi at all.

19 minutes by Jodi Picoult has been by far the best book I have ever read in a while. It is about a school shooting though, so if thats going to affect you in anyway don't read it. It is very touching, sad, and emotional.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Absolutly amazing.

1984 by ....Orwell. I don't really remember the author's name but I had to read it for my Language class and loved it.

Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld. Don't get scared off by the name, it is about a girl who slips deeper and deeper into lonliness and depression when she enters a New England boarding school. I loved this book, and it really hits home to anyone in highschool. So many things to relate to.

Candy by ..... I don't remember this name either but I loved it as well. It was about a guy who meets this girl at a zoo, and falls in love. She is a drug user/prostitute and follows his journey of changing her life. Very good novel in my opinion.

hmmmm, those are my top favorites I could read over and over again.

Also Angel & Demons and The Da Vinci Code are very good. Along with any book by John Grisham. Stephen King is also a given for me. :]
Check out your local library and just chill reading about different authors and skimming books until you find something you like. Thats what I do. :goodvibes

I didn't like it as much either, and I read it after the Da Vinci Code. I didn't really like the writing style in either book, but I loved the plots and basicallly read through both really fast just to figure out what happens lol. :rotfl:
