Book or Keep Trying?

I have a week in July on hold because my first choice week is booked for where we want to stay.Should I keep trying to seeing if they get a cancellation?Has anyone has success with this?

Definetly keep calling back and trying for the dates you're looking for. Book the other week for now and change it over if and when the other date comes through so that you still have a ressie in case the original date doesn't open up. People cancel all the time though ...especially as they get closer to their cancellation windows so ya never know.

My mom (who is down there now - so jealous) wanted Coronado really bad but didn't want the suites so she kept trying online all throughout the day, on her about 6th try that day she finally was able to secure a regular room

I booked for a hotel I didn't want and I kept calling every week. Well, I finally was able to get the hotel I wanted. Then I wanted to add a night, but all the rooms were booked. I kept calling every week and I finally added some days to our trip. So, yes it can happen. Good Luck.
