Book online now, add discount later?

If I book online now for next summer, and a discount becomes available, how hard is it to add the discount to my online reservation? Or should i book by phone so it's easier to later apply a discount if one is offered?

Doesn't matter if you do it by phone or online.

If a discount comes out, you don't really apply it to your current reservation - really, your current reservation gets cancelled and then you book a new one with the discount.

I've also changed via phone and online with no issues (once you have a reservation, you can get the option to "Change" in MDE). It's always been seamless for me both ways, just be aware, there's no really "applying a discount" to a current reservation.

Just be aware that discounts are not available for all resorts/room categories, so you need to decide if you're willing to change things if that's the case.

We use the modify button when the discount or promo hits. We've been using the BB for free dining so it hasn't come up but the modify button was awesome when we used it last.

I booked online about 11 months before our trip and a room discount showed up for our dates. I was on hold on the phone for about 35 minutes but got the discount. Phone only for that one but it worked.
