I notice some of you do this on internet only fares. Does it really save you that much money?

Yes it does. I paid 210.00 for 4tx o/w if I can get that on return I will save 500.00  princess:

Actually, the only way I've seen on SWA's website to book is by booking one way fares. They just provide a place for you to select the one way fare for the return flight on the same page. Even if you book their most expensive ticket, it's still one way fares on both ends of the trip. I'm not sure if this practice does much to contribute to their cheaper fares, though. I think it may just be SWA's to shoehorn as many people as possible on each flight.

I'm a regular SW flyer, and I often book one-ways because it gives more flexibility to cancel & rebook one leg of a flight if a lower rate comes out on Ding. Another reason to book one-way is when the first leg of my flight is included on their schedule, but my return flight is not. I have a flight for early June, but my return flight is past their current schedule, so I booked one-way for the first, and I'm waiting to book the second.

Hope that makes sense. SW is great!

Thanks so much for your thoughts! Obviously, I've never booked online with SW before. Normally, we fly American to Orlando, but right now their direct flights are over $400pp. :faint: I'm not sure what they are smokin', but I'm not smokin' the same thing! ;) I've never paid over $200 pp on previous flights!

Hint: The only reasons to book an itinerary as one round trip are:

1. To get a lower fare compared with one way trips.

2. To ensure that nothing books non-refundably unless both ways are available at the moment of booking.
