Hello,
I am headed to WDW in August, originally had planned to stay the whole week (Aug 21-28th) at WDW Beach Club....however, my son wants very badly to see Universal Studios. I am considering staying at Portifino Bay hotel our first night we land (Aug 21) and spending the Sunday Aug 22 at US/IOA then staying that night and heading to our room at the Beach Club on Mon Aug 23 for the remainder of the week. It does not appear that there are any room discounts at the moment for August. Would you suggest booking now, or waiting a couple months to see if discounts come out?? We are not huge roller coaster people, and only really want to see the new Harry Potter attraction at IOA, more interested in the movie side of Universal, thus the low number of days!
Thanks for your help

We made our reservations for the HRH for Aug. already. We are AAA members and got their discount already. Not sure what the Canadian equivalent would be. I would reserve the room to make sure you get what you want and then keep an eye out for discounts. They are very good about applying any discount you find to the room price.

Just curious, what was the AAA discount? We're AP holders, so we generally go with that, but last week I switched my July res because their general "stay more, save more" rate was $50/night less than the AP rate for a kids suite.

We have two garden view rooms reserved for two nights in Aug. AAA saved me almost $100 a night for the two rooms ($50 each) including all taxes. I have called Loews a few times to check on cheaper rates and this has been the lowest rate for us since we don't qualify for the super saver. An obstructed room view would be less but we didn't want that.

Thank you, I was trying to determine if perhaps AAA had a better discount than what they offer APs. I've tried entering "AAA" in the promotion code box in the past but never had any luck.
