We'll be going down to Disney this Decemeber from the 16th to the 26th. OBviously there are no AP codes/rates available yet. I wanted to confirm, can I go to website, or where ever, book rate now, then when rates come out apply the code to get lower price? What if betwen now and then I'd want to change dates slightly, as I may want to arrive a day later or so still prior than date rates typcially go up.

There is no guarantee that there will be codes for your resort stay. IF there are AP codes released, and IF they have them at the resort you want and the view you want, they will book an identical reservation to what you already have and cancel your existing reservation. Booking ahead of times usually hurts the folks waiting for an AP code, not help them. If there are plenty of rooms available, then there will be discounts. IF everyone books them and it appears they are planning on paying rack rate, there will be no discounts on the rooms. If it worked the way you described it, we would ALL book the exact room we wanted and applied the codes when they were released. The only way you can help yourself get a discounted room is to be flexible with where you want to stay. Often standard view rooms are not available and alot of times CSR and A/S Movies have no discounted rooms available. It's all a game of waiting. Since your dates are so close to Christmas, there could also be a strong possiblity that those dates will be blackout, as they are for Easter this year. Good luck.

On the other hand, if you are pretty sure you will be staying during that time, and your heart is set on a particular place, I would go ahead and book. You are covering the holiday season with your dates, very, very busy time of year--BUT book it for what you could realistically afford --with proper planning, just in case no codes comes out. If you have AAA, you can book with a % discount. I say this only because your dates overlap the Christmas holiday and if you wait as the previous poster stated, you may wind up without a room for the last days of your vacation.

CSR is?? Coranado Springs? Does that one sell out the quickest?? Kind of surprised as personally it's far from my favorite of the moderates. I much prefer PO, particually the old Dixie part or CB.

When I know when I am going I always book what I can afford and if a code comes out I would either apply the code to the existing reservation or upgrade to another resort.

I always book the AAA discount for a room that I could afford and would be happy with and then IF an AP comes out I will change it then. I do this to ensure I have a room that will work and not wait too long and find out I cannot go.
