Book ideas for DD6

Half Magic by Edward Eagar is one of my favorites.

I have almost bought that book a few times for my kids. I keep picking it up but I don't take it home. Next time I am at the store I will get this one for my DD's.

Thanks for all the responses, I will definitely be getting some of these for her!!:goodvibes

My DD is 6 and she is loving the "my Weird School" series right now by Dan Gutman. Another favorite is the Ready Freddy series. These 2 series usually take her between 1 to 2 hours to finish the entire book. For quicker reads Amelia Bedelia is a favorite along with the Mercy Watson collection!!:goodvibes

No one has listed Katie Kazoo Switcheroo. My son loves these, even though the character is a girl, because she switches places with other characters. They are really fun!

Oh yes both my daughters love these books.

Also the Clementine books are good.

Mercy Watson is my 6 year olds absolute favorite book to read. I didn't mention it because I was trying to think of chapter books. However, we have the whole collection and they are absolutely beautiful and funny.

I think DD was a little older than 6 when she read the Guardians of Ga'hoole series, but not much older. I think it was in second grade that she and her buddies spent the whole school year being owls on the playground! Anyway, if your DD can read "up" level-wise, these might be fun because a movie of the first one is coming out soonish.

Along those same lines, Kevin Oppell's SilverWing series is another well-loved one here. Again, maybe a little above-level, but I've found that an exciting storyline will bring a reader along even if it is a little harder than what they are used to.

Just Grace series.

Ivy & Bean series.

And many others that were mentioned, but these I didn't see. They are sweet books.
