We booked our airfare for Jan 30-Feb 5. Do we book our hotel now or wait for '08 rates?

Then the big question which hotel???????

How many people are in your family?
Are you leaning towards a certain resort or view?

I don't think booking a resort for that time of year would be a problem, but then again I tend to book my room as soon as I decide to go. Makes it more real, you know?

Do you have your heart set on any certain resort? If so, I would so go ahead and book a room only reservation. You can change it over to a package or have the room only price adjusted when the 2008 rates come out which should be pretty soon. Lots of posts have said August 5th is the date they will come out.

We've stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort two years in a row and loved everything about our 10 day stays.

In June, 2008, we are staying 10 days at the Wilderness Lodge. When I called Disney reservations, they said there are a limited number of standard view rooms available at the Wilderness Lodge. We had our heart set on the WL so I went ahead and booked a room only reservation so I would be assured of staying at that resort.

We are going September 26th and I booked a room only ressie the first week of Jan. I then changed it once in April when we decided we wanted to do the package with dining. Then the 2nd week of July I changed it again with a newer code and saved another $200. It doesn't hurt to book it and change something later. Also if you do a room only you only have to put a deposit of 1 night stay down. Good luck

I'm kinda of in the same boat. DD and I are going in February and on the Disney website, I can't even start getting pricing for the package because they don't have the 2008 rates available yet. I'm worried that if I wait there won't be a room available at the resort we want. What to do? What to do?

I'm a fan of waiting to book until you know exactly what you want. Yes, you can make reservations now and change them as many times as you want between now and then...but the more times a "human" touches your reservation, the greater the chance that something could get messed up on it.

But, I definitely agree that you should book now if you have your heart set on a view or location at a specific resort that is difficult to get.

I just got off the phone booking a stay at Wilderness Lodge.
I'm sorry that I waited, we were planning to get a standard view, but those weren't available anymore.
Granted, we are staying over President's weekend.
