Book Deluxe Resort at Moderate Price?

My AKL room (Deluxe Resort) is $129 a night for our trip in December to MVMCP. :thumbsup2 I got the same rate last year for Magical Beginnings and got a free upgrade to Savannah room view.:dance3: :cool1:

I am thinking about going back in Dec - we were just at AKL last month - my husband thinks I'm a little crazy.

Anyway, would you mind sharing where this rate came from?? I am waiting for my quote from Dreams Unlimited and have been scouring these boards for a Dec deal, but have not found ANYTHING! I have a Disney Visa and AAA, but have found nothing near $129.

Thanks in advance for helping out a fellow Dis'er and AKL fan!

I read that they now charge nightly to park your car at Swan & Dolphin, this was one of the reasons I chose POFQ in May.
:confused3

$9 a night to park the car is not much when you concider I am only paying $125 for a 4 star hotel in the Epcot location with Disney transportation, EMH and package delivery from the parks and DTD to the Swan/Dolphin resort.

I'm not that picky for the right rate. I'll pay $9 per day to save $50/night versus somewhere else.
My heart still belongs at AKL though...

Gotcha...this Disney planning stuff is all new to me. It is a shame you need a PhD to plan a trip to Disney!

:rotfl: You actually need a PhD in accounting, finance or economics to plan the Disney trip--I have a humanities PhD and I'm still overwhelmed by all of the options, codes and possibilities! Can you say informationoverload?!? :confused3

I agree the savings even with the 9 dollars a day is awesome at the Swan/Dolpin. We are staying at BC and I thought got an awesome deal but we are still paying what I think comes out to about 208 a night after taxes!

I'm waiting for my quote to come back from Dreams Unlimited, but I think I remember BC being around $300-ish a night?
I'm guessing you had "THE CODE" that was the subject of much debate a few months ago :rolleyes1
Enjoy your trip - I've barely been back a month and I already want to go back!

Don't forget the $12 per day for a fridge. Of course if you can get it for $125 per night then it is not a bad deal.

The rate is part of the 40% discount which needed to be booked by 3/15/07. I never got a postcard or email. I simply called in and asked; the CM said she had something she could use, applied it and voila i got the rate. :woohoo:

Codes are historically released and one should be out pretty soon for fall/winter. Keep an eye on the codes section cuz when it breaks, all heck breaks loose.:hourglass

Well it was a code but not the one that caused all the uproar. The other one did not work for our dates. So it basically did me no good since I could not talk my husband into a second trip in 6 months for some silly reason. We got an upsell which worked as well. It seems to be about the same discount though.

Thanks we are VERY excited. It is a suprise bday trip for the kids so I am about to blow up from not telling anyone lol.

I've been patiently "stalking" the December code thread for something that will work. Apparently these normally come out in August, maybe a little earlier since I have a Disney Visa. I need to do this trip on a budget if it happens, so every dollar I can save gets me a teeny bit closer convincing my husband to go. ;)

There's a whole thread somewhere about the "Keepers of the Secret" club. I am not a member. There's no way I could contain myself.

for the Swan and Dolphin! Definitely a deluxe experience! We've stayed for as little as $139 a night. One other time we paid $149 and then once we paid $179. Very good rates, especially these days, for a truly 4-star experience.

I would do cartwheels for that rate!!!!

I did just book BWI for late July at $199 a night (FL Resident). Its not quite as low as a moderate, but its the best rate at BWI I have come across to date.
