Book a package or wait for codes?

I booked my hotel for May 7-13 (6 nights) at ASMo @ a rate of $99 a nite. I was going to buy my tickets at the Disney Store but now that the MYW packages have come out it might be cheaper to book one. But if codes come out for May that will be way cheaper than a package. So should I wait and see if codes come out or should I get locked into a package? Also, when do May codes come out? When I booked, the CM told me if I got a hold of a code call back with my Res. # and they would apply the new rate. I'm trying to cut costs to a minimum and still have the magic.

If you book a package, you will have until 45 days prior to your arrival date to cancel without penalty or loss of your deposit. So, if a room-only code comes out between now and that 45-day mark, you should be fine. You would be able to cancel the package and book the room with no penalty.

If a package code comes out, do just what the CRO rep. said: call with the code and they'll apply it to your package. Last year, room-only codes for the general public for May were released in mid-March. Package discounts came out at the same time.
