Your WDW plans look great!

Poor Paxton! I hope everything is ok. I got tested for a heart murmur when I was little and everything turned out ok. Fingers crossed!

Yay for DL in 2 weeks!! You must be so excited!

Thanks! I have had to change our park days around so many times, I'm hoping it stays close to this when we actually go. The only thing DH said when he looked at it was that we might want more Epcot time, but there are a couple afternoons that can easily be changed to Epcot if needed. Now that we have Paxton, the first park of the day is the most important. The afternoon/evening can kind of be wherever we feel like going that day!

I just found out from my MIL that DH had a heart murmur when he was little too, so that reassured me a little more. I just wish the office would call and give me the result so I can relax!

SO SO SO excited about DL!! I made my packing list the other day, and I'm ready to start packing NOW. Just so ready to get there, now that I have done a little more research on the attractions and food!

Well, we downloaded some flash card apps on the iPad and he actually sat in my lap for a good 25 minutes looking at them with me, so hopefully he will make some progress. Getting him to sit for 25 minutes for ANYTHING is usually impossible! Our doc suggested doing them doing bathtime since he enjoys being in the bathtub. Can't argue with that...a captive audience!

Wow, what time is your lunch at 50's? Wouldn't that be so funny if our tables were next to each other? Maybe we will run into one another at the parks! I think I am most excited about his birthday, just because I never imagined I'd be taking my child to my favorite (and hopefully soon, his favorite too!) place on his birthday! I never had, nor wanted, that chance because my birthday is in the summer and it's just too darn hot. We do eat a lot of CS...The places we like are Cosmic Ray's for all of the choices, Pecos Bill's for the burgers, and Columbia Harbour House is just delicious (I haven't tried the Anchors Aweigh tuna sandwich there yet, but I've heard it's delicious and plan to try it out this time!). At AK we almost always eat Pizzafari, but I've heard Flame Tree Barbeque is good, we are just not fans of bbq. In DHS, the pickin's are slim, but we usually eat at Backlot Express or Pizza Planet. And at Epcot we have only eaten Electric Umbrella, which is nothing spectacular. I'm going to try to get DH to try Sunshine Seasons this trip though.
Glad to hear he was interested in the flash cards! I agree, 25 minutes is pretty amazing at his age. Great idea about the bath tub, too!

50's PTC is one of our favorites. Our lunch ADR is at 11:30! That would be crazy. I mean, I guess it really is "a small world after all," right? ;) If I spot you I will say hi and try not to seem like a crazy internet stalker. :rotfl: I've been considering changing my mind and trying my hand at a PTR in a month or two, so I may be posting some more of my plans through that in the future.

We also love Columbia Harbour House! I always get the fish basket. We've also had good experiences with Pizzafari and I like that it's air conditioned. Flame Tree BBQ is AMAZING, but if you aren't in to BBQ I can see why you'd hesitate to try it. We've never done CS at DHS and only the Mexico pavilion at Epcot - need to try some more stuff there!

Awww man sorry to hear about little Paxton! That's interesting about your DH having a heart murmur too though - that would make me feel better, too. Cute pic of him all strapped in - such a happy kid!!

Your WDW plans look so great, your taco night sounds like so much fun too! Too cute! Good idea to utilize the kitchen. He's going to have such a great 2nd birthday! :goodvibes

Your October plans look wonderful and I think we will actually be in the MK at the same time on your arrival day.

Regarding Paxton - I know that children often have innocent murmurs (I'm sure you already knew that), so hopefully the cardiologist will be scheduling an echocardiogram soon and you will know what your baby's heart looks like on the inside. Hope everything goes smoothly and I certainly don't blame you for being a little nervous!

Woo Hoo on 14 days to DL! :cool1:

I'll keep Paxton in my prayers. It is likely nothing serious, but not knowing what is going on has got to be one of the most difficult things you could endure. Hopefully you'll get some answers soon!

Also, we kind of went through the limited speech and vocabulary thing with DS around that age too. Now, he repeats everything he hears and he won't shut up. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Looks good to me. I've said this before, but you are so smart to plan mid-day breaks. Some parents just push through the days. You know what you are doing.

I see Tutto Italia, 50's Prime Time, Crystal Palace and 'Ohana as the ADRs, correct? Yum! I really, really want to try 'Ohana next trip, but I'd probably choose dinner.

As far as sitter programs go, we've never hired one, and I agree I would not do it at such a young age, probably not until 5 or 6. However, we tried one of the kids clubs when we stayed at AKL, and those I would probably trust at 4 years old. I don't think you need to be staying at the hotel to use them, so if you just want a nice dinner out, you could use those clubs. Say you wanted to eat at Jiko, you put Paxton in Simba's Clubhouse like we did.

Hope you hear about Paxton soon and it's all good news!

Well done on your ADR's! Glad it all worked out for you even with your changes in the plans.

Sorry to hear about little Paxton. Hope you get the all clear from the Dr soon...even if it is a murmur it sounds like it's something that will clear up on it's own given time. We don't like to hear that something is wrong with our kids, do we?

Haha You will not seem like a crazy stalker! :rotfl: We will probably be wearing our LGMH (if we don't forget them again like we did last time!) so we have said hello to other DISers in the parks on past trips. That would be great if you did a PTR! Make sure you give me the link if you do decide to write one. :thumbsup2

Finding out about DH made me feel better for sure. He was so funny during the test. He kept trying to sit up, and the tech kept asking him to lay down (:rotfl: yeah right, ASKING an 18 month old to do something!), but luckily I had stopped by my unit while waiting for the test and the child life specialist let me borrow the unit's iPad for the EKG. So while I held his hands to keep him from pulling the wires, DH held the iPad up over his head so he had to lay back to see the screen. Worked perfectly! He was all smiles & cooperation after that, plus I found a new game to download for our iPad for the plane trip!

It will be our first time really cooking in all the times we have stayed at a Wyndham resort with a full kitchen, so I'm a little excited about it! It's there for us, might as well get some use out of it!

We should be wearing our LGMHs so if you see us in MK, tell us hi! We will be most likely to be spotted in Liberty Square. :goodvibes

Yes, the MD said she thinks it's a functional/innocent murmur, so I was relieved to hear that. It was just rough to hear that something is now "wrong" with my baby who up until now has been perfectly healthy! He didn't even get his first ear infection until a month ago! But thanks for the reassurance. It does help to hear it!

Thanks so much for the compliment! :goodvibes I gotta say, pushing that stroller around and trying to keep DS under control all day, those breaks are just as nice for me as they are for him! :lmao:

When he is older, I would love to try out one of the kids clubs. They sound so fun for the kids! And I would be much more comfortable in a setting like that with other kids for him to play with and several CM's working together vs. one sitter in the room with DS alone.

Well done on your ADR's! Glad it all worked out for you even with your changes in the plans.

Thanks! I was relieved they were easy to change around, but I think as long as I don't try to switch my character breakfasts around, we should be fine. I will be clutching that 8:10 CP ADR with a steel grip! No way am I risking losing that one, no matter what the crowd calendar says!! :rotfl2:

Definitely don't like hearing that his heart is not perfect, but I'm not letting myself worry too much since the MD doesn't sound very concerned and it just covering all the bases with the testing & cardio appointment.

We are getting SO close to Disneyland I can taste it! We got a shipment in from Amazon yesterday with a few new things we got for Paxton to play with on the plane.

5ec781a9.jpg

We had gotten the Mickey coloring book and the squeeze cars from the Dollar Store a couple of weeks ago, then from Amazon we ordered some books, and these other toys for the plane, the Thomas play set, foam puzzles, and Wikki Sticks. I have never heard of Wikki Sticks, but they are little pieces of yarn coated in non-toxic wax. The idea is to bend them into shapes or animals, etc., but I figured Paxton would just have a good time twisting and pulling at them. We'll just have to watch him carefully with those, but I figure we will be trapped in an airplane row, there's not much else for us to look besides at him! :rotfl: We are planning to take a shopping trip to Baton Rouge tomorrow to their big mall and Babies R Us store to look for anything else and to get a good set of flashcards, since I have looked at Target and Wal-Mart and found nothing useful. Who would have thought it'd be so hard to find flashcards?? Also, will be look for some clothes for Paxton and shorts for myself, so hopefully we will find some good stuff.

With regards to my last update about Paxton, I still haven't heard from the office about his EKG (which is pretty ridiculous since it was done on Monday), but here's where working in a hospital has its advantages! I worked yesterday with one of my good friends who is a respiratory therapist, so she was able to pull up the result and tell me on the "down low" that it was normal! So we have his cardiology appointment later in the month and she may want to do more testing, but at least there are no obvious problems with his heart rhythm and function. What a relief! :goodvibes Also, we are already making progress on his speech and added another word to his vocabulary: ball! So maybe we will be able to complete our "homework" of three more words in a month's time.

And finally...Some of you that have followed my other PTR's and TR's know about my *ahem* slight obsession with the band Hanson...

Last year, they were playing at Eat to the Beat just days before our arrival, and I considered rearranging my trip dates just to see them, but in the end, decided we'd rather be there for Festival of the Masters and Osborne Lights. My dreams of seeing my favorite band in my favorite place were dashed. But not this year!!

neworleans06.jpg

The Eat to the Beat performers were announced today, and Hanson will be there the 22nd and 23rd, as will yours truly!! I mean, I was already beyond excited about this trip, and now that excitement has grown ten-fold! It will mean a little tweaking of the afternoon and evening plans for one or both of those days, but I'm not worried. Our afternoons are usually flexible.

Monday I had been planning on us going to MK in the evening to see (possibly) MSEP, and (definitely) Wishes. Since the first performance is kind of early, we could park at the TTC, take the monorail to Epcot, then monorail to MK for the parade/Wishes. And Tuesday I was planning MK in the afternoon again just because, but DH did mention he thought we should have more Epcot time, and since that night is a party night, we wouldn't be able to stay in MK very long anyway. A swap to Epcot Tuesday night would be easy enough. And maybe that evening my parents could take Paxton back to the resort for bedtime, and DH and I could stay for the later performance and IllumiNations. I'm such a dork, but I can't help it, I'm SO EXCITED about this!!! :dance3:

Add that to the fact that we are just :woohoo: 10 DAYS :woohoo: away from Disneyland, and I'm one happy girl!!

Glad your friend at the hospital was able to find out the info on Paxton's test and give you some relief there.

Also super glad to hear the flash cards are working for him!!

Looks like he has some fun stuff to play with on the plane. I need to try and get some stuff together in the coming months for my little boys too.

OMG Hanson. They have children now. It's weird. That's all I have to say about that LOL.

It has been a hard balance to find things that will entertain him, but not be too loud, too many small pieces, or things he could turn into a projectile! We are keeping everything in a box so it will all be brand new to him on the plane and hopefully keep him more interested than the same old things he is used to playing with.

:rotfl: Yes, and I just heard Taylor and his wife are expecting #5! Maybe we will meet up with them in the parks and our kids can play together.

Yay for your good news on Paxton.:goodvibes
Yay for 10 days until DL. :cool1:
Yay for HANSON! (I know how much you LOVE them boys!) :worship:
Yay for leaving Paxton with the Grandparents!

Yay it's the weekend! (That's more for me.):yay:

First of all, I'm glad that your friend was able to slightly relieve your anxiety regarding Paxton's tests.

Secondly... nah, forget it. I don't think I can even comment on Hanson. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Your excitement is contagious!

Yeah for Amazon - just ordered some new teva sandals from them today. I definitely need a comfy pair for June.

So glad that Paxton's EKG is normal and that his pediatrician thinks this is just a functional murmur. That is very good news, indeed!

I know you are so relieved to get some good news about Paxton! So glad for you! And yay for a new word! Good news all around. :goodvibes What will you try to teach him to say next, "Mickey?" Just kiddin. :)

Wow, I haven't heard anything about Hanson in a while...they grew up and are looking GOOD! how awesome that you'll get to see them!

:cool1:
whoop whoop
You're almost there! 10 days!
and great news for Paxton!:worship:
Shout out to the respiratory therapist!!:woohoo:

I LOVE Amazon! We get huge cases of diapers shipped from there once a month for cheaper than it would cost to buy packs at the store. We found so much more on there than we have in any of the stores I've been checking for plane activities, at least for toddlers. There's a lot of cool stuff for older kids.

Thank you, I was SO happy to get that news!

Oh man, VERY relieved! I have been working on Mickey, but to be honest, he has been watching Sesame Street since he was like 6 months old and still doesn't say Elmo, so I'm not too hopeful about that one anytime soon. :rotfl:

I have been a Hanson fan for 15 years! That picture is actually from a few years ago...but it's obviously my favorite, since I am sandwiched between my two favorite brothers in it!! :lovestruc I missed out on seeing them by just a few days last year for Eat to the Beat, so I'm just ecstatic that it worked out to see them this year!
