UPDATE- I had my 3 hour glucose test today and passed. What a relief.
I have to say, that was a rough test. The first hour was the worst. I can't believe how sick I felt from that drink. I spent the first hour going between feeling really hot to getting cold chills and just wanting to go to sleep. After that initial hour though, I felt so much better.
A few things that helped me through it:
-I stayed up late the night before and ate 2 eggs right before 11:30 so I had something on my stomach. That helped me not be so hungry this morning.
-They were able to put a needle in my arm that capped off and could be reused the entire time so I only got stuck once. That was a huge plus for me.
- I sipped on water the entire time.
- Lol--- I didn't get too hungry because while waiting for my 3rd blood draw, I was feeling pretty good. The lady next to me in the waiting area kept talking to someone about bringing them some gizzards to eat. Hahaha...wasn't hungry after that
- I had company. My aunt met me there and we chit chatted the whole time. She also treated me to lunch afterwards which was really nice.
Good luck to anyone else who has to go through that!
