Watch your emails for a bonus offer from Southwest. My DH got one........I did not! :confused3 Anyway, you get 3,000 miles for spending $5,000 between Oct 1 and Dec 31. You do have to register through the email or call. I wish I got one too!

Both DH and I got one. :) We registered both cards.

Thanks for the head up! I just checked my email and there it was in my spam.

I don't know if I deleted that email or not. I think there was a SW email but usually they are like "Get 4 points per $ when you shop at Lands End" or something like that so I didn't open. And when I check email online, when I delete, they are GONE.

Does anybody know if you can find out anything when you log into your account? I opened my Rapid Rewards account on SW but didn't see anything.

I'm pretty sure it's a targeted offer. Not everyone will get the e-mail. I was fortunate enough to get this one and I got one for my AirTran card back in August.

Do you mind me asking do you have a Southwest and an Air Tran card at the same time? I was thinking of getting an Air Tran card next but with them both being issued by Chase, I didn't know if it was possible.

Thanks.

I was so excited when I got that offer yesterday. That's a lot of points! Guess I'll be putting our Dec trip on my cc :upsidedow

I do have both and a Chase Sapphire. I started out with an AirTran and had it for years until he merger and cancelled it. I signed up for the SW visa when they were offering the bonus 50k miles. About 6 months after that Chase Sapphire was offering 50k bonus for getting that credit card so I got that and just stopped using the SW Visa. I never cancelled it. A couple of months later I got an offer to sign up for an AirTran Visa with a bonus of 2 RT tickets. I signed up for that, but they called me and said that they would have to rearrange credit limits so I could get the AirTran. I have never cancelled any of them because the bonus you get outweighs the yearly fee. So far I have been able to fly my family of 5 RT twice to Disney and in November we are all flying to Mexico business class all for "free" (still have to pay taxes or some sort of fee).

my offer doesn't say 3,000 MILES, it says 3,000 points.

Are points and miles the same thing? I am new to the SW visa
