My husband and I were trying to decide the best times for FP+. He seems to be under the impression that none of the "big" rides will have any FPs available for the additional ones you can get after you use your first three. Just curious...for those of you that have been under the new system, what types of FP's were still available from the afternoon on? Do you have options like Test Track or Space Mountain? He wants to make our selections for the middle of the day, when the parks seem to be the most crowded and ride times are the longest. I just think we need to get them in the morning. Thoughts?

You most likely will NOT be able to get any headliners after the morning, and if you are able to they will probably be in the latest time slots (like the one that runs until closing). This is somewhat dependent on the park you are in, but generally the way it works. At MK for example, I didn't really find any headliners available at all in the afternoons. At Epcot, there definitely wasn't availablity in the early afternoon for TT or Soarin, but there was some for Malestrom and MS (though I wouldn't put them on par with the first 2, it isn't like the only availability was Figment). However at DHS sometimes Kali and EE were available into the afternoons. The rides that are booked before your trip like 7DMT or close to booked like TSMM will definitely not be available (unless cancelled by another guest).

Fantastic! This is exactly the type of explanation I was looking for. My family is very accustomed to the old system, but are open to the new changes. We are super-planners, so we just want to make sure we have the most info to make good decisions when it comes to our ADRs and FP+. Thanks for your help!

I'm curious too - when you say headliners are not available at MK would that include BTMRR, Pan, Pooh, ?? I realize 7DMT will be gone and most likely Space and Splash.

DHS is my other odd one with the tiering it is difficult. I like TGMR but would take that short wait over TSMM any day. I was planning on getting a FP for TSMM and rope dropping RnR with Tier 2 being StarTours and ? as the others don't really need a FP. Any of the Tier 2 shows worth getting for the seating area?

We were there at the beginning of May and the only rides we weren't able to book for our 4th+ FP+ were Soarin', TT, and TSMM. On most days both TT and TSMM didn't "sell out" until 11-12p. OP, I was successful in securing Space, Splash, BTMRR, Buzz, Pirates, and HM at MK and EE at AK after we had used our initial 3, and in most instances I secured those attractions for 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th FP+ selections.

Same for us, except second week of June. No issue getting any of the mountains at Disney World for later in the day.
