My family are considering staying at the Bonnet Creek Resort. Can anyone tell me about transportation to the parks and Downtown Disney? Do they have transportation to and from the airport. Thanks Much

My parents are members and we stayed there a couple years ago and the transportation stinks. They only have scheduled times that the bus leaves the resort and to pick up at the parks. What we did was drive over the Downtown Disney and catch buses there. You just want to make sure what time they start running in case you have an early breakfast reservation. We were told then that BC was getting into the Disney trans. system but when my parents were just there it didn't work out because of liability reasons is what they were told. It's a VERY beautiful place to stay. You're also only a couple miles, if that, from Ft. Wilderness and can park in the parking lot there and hop on the transportation there. Hope this helped out!!

We stayed there last year and loved it. I don't think there is transportation to/from airport. We rented a car for the week. We drove to the parks each day even though we had to pay parking. It was much more convenient for us. I didn't think the transportation schedule to/from the parks was that great. It was also quite a walk to the bus for us. I remember that the bus departed/returned several times in the morning and evening but not much in the afternoon. Other people on here think the transportation to the parks is fine.

My hubby and I stayed there for 3 days after staying at Caribbean Beach for 7 days. I preferred staying on Disney Property. The buses for Bonnet Creek just did not run on a schedule that worked for us. We ended up spending a lot of money on taxis just for those 3 days. I definitely recommend staying on Disney property or having your own car if staying at Bonnet Creek.

I would rent a car, no question.

There is no transportation from the airport. The bus transportation to the parks is scheduled. It is relatively frequent compared to other offsite locations, but you have to pay to get from the airport anyway so at that point a car is a modest additional expense.

That said, folks who have stayed there with their own car have generally just loved it.

We've stayed at BC before and loved it. As pp's have said, you will probably want a rental car. It just makes it much more convenient for coming and going per YOUR schedule. Also, keep in mind that there are very few, if any, dining options at BC, so you may need to run out for groceries and/or restaurants for meals and it's nice to have a car to do so.

The below schedule was taken from a thread on the transportation forum. The poster was there in March 09 and said this was the schedule when they were staying at Bonnet Creek. I have looked at the shuttle schedule from August 07 and August 08 on a Wyndham forum and it improved greatly over that one year.
