Is Bonnet Creek the best timeshare resort in Orlando? Any others you would suggest instead of Bonnet Creek?

Staying there for the first time in January so I will let you know. I just got my confirmation today. We are renting from an owner. The location is awsome and the units look beautiful and affordable. Although it is not on disney property, it is closer than many disney resorts such as por, value resorts, animal kingdom etc.

We've stayed at a few and Marriott's Cypress Harbor is our number 1. I've been hearing of BC and would be interested to hear more reviews. Usually, without a major name behind the resort to enforce quality standards, I would be worried about going with them. The one time we stayed at a "non-name brand" timeshare we found Orange Lake to be below average compared to the others. They aren't run by Marriott/Hilton/Starwood so I would be leary about going to another no-name timeshare.

As per previous poster, BC is owned by Wyndham and is considered their "flagship" location. I've only stayed at Cypress Pointe before I stayed at Bonnet Creek, and I can say BC blew the other way out of the water ::yes::

This is the last time I'm going to post these ;) :

OMG bonnet creek is just AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we stayed there for a week last august and i sooooooo want to go back , in fact i am in the process of booking again. I cant say enough good things about them! Going down the lazy river (bath water warm) at 2 am with adult beverage in hand, is just fabulous after a long day in disney.
We liked the kitchen filled with rubbermaid and cooking utensils. Woke up, soaked in the whirl pool tub made some breakfast,(walmarts is near by for shopping and taxi's abound) packed a backpack cooler lunch and off we went to the parks. came back around 2:00, had a snack, showered in the very nice walk in shower, layed down on the bed for a nice siesta, grilled some dinner and headed back to watch the fireworks. then back to the resort to enjoy couple time at the lazy river.

We spent half our days at the resort and the others doing disney. If you have kids definately plan on spending some time at the resort, it is very kid friendly, yet very adult friendly too.

the pictures posted previously are no exaggeration, it is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!! But unless you are willing to buy, do NOT under no circumstance go to thier sales pitch! It lasts 6 hours no joking! If you buy from another person you do not "need" to go.

Best wishes,
Becky

Thanks for posting the pictures! We have JUST changed our June reservation from Cypress Harbour to Bonnet Creek. Cypress Harbour looks wonderful and gets fabulous reviews, but since we are spending 10 days at Disney this trip, I really felt the location made Bonnet Creek a better choice for us. We will be taking afternoon breaks many days, and I just love that we can stay on "Disney roads" and be surrounded by Disney property the entire time. Also, I have one DD that just loves pool slides, and another who does better in zero-depth entry pools. All my kids will enjoy the lazy river and mini golf. 20 days 'til Disney...we cannot wait!:cool1:

Please let us know how it was when you get back. We are going in January

Is there an inexpensive way to stay at BC? I remember when it first opened there was a discounted rate, are there any specials that are particularly worthwhile? I'd like to give them a try...

Wyndham generally won't put you up at Bonnet Creek if you go on one of their promotional stays---they put you up in a nice (but not too nice) hotel nearby, so that they can better illustrate the advantages of owning BC rather than renting a dinky hotel room.

Your best bet is a reservation from an owner last minute (45-60 days), when points discounts apply---it's also useful to be able to travel in the lowest point seasons.

I am using the same owner and smooth sailing so far. However, if you book less than 60 days out it does seem like you can get a slightly better deal because it is cheaper (less points) for the owner.

We are also using the same owner, at vacationupgrades.com. I have been very happy with the transaction so far, and am paying the typical off-season price since I just reserved this at around 23 days out. I will review BC and our total rental experience with this owner in early July once we return, but I feel very good about both at this point.:goodvibes

Here is a really well done website of Bonnet Creek photos. For those who think you aren't "in the magic" because the dirt doesn't belong to Disney at BC take a look at photos 3 and 4. How many DVC resorts are THAT close to a Disney park?

This shows many of the amenities, the units, even the Presidential suites. Doesn't seem to lack theme or suffer with tiny rooms does it? It is a great resort as the photos show off well.

In addition to the lost costs overall, just found out that internet is free (saves $10 a day) and that there are no resort fee. I think that orlando resorts charge a 12% fee. That is saving us over another $100.

I never thought I would be able to afford a place like this so close to disney. We stayed at a moderate for 6 days last feb and paid more for the room than this and tripped over each other the entire week.

Is it hard to rent a first floor unit? I'm guessing there are elevators to get to the top floors.

I stayed at BC in March 07. It was gorgeous and so convenient. There are elevators to all floors. In Oct 07, I stayed at Windsor Hills which I felt was comparable in quality and almost as close and was a little cheaper.

Thanks to the poster who mentioned a possible discount if you book closer to your vacation date. I didn't know that :confused3 I'd like to stay at BC again if I could find a decent rate.

Happy planning!:)

Is there shuttle service from here to the parks? Or do you have to have your own car? Thanks so much,

Cathy
