Bonnet Creek

It doesn't rent to the public. You will have to find a Wyndham/Fairfield owner, and rent points from them.

You can find *many* owners renting BC weeks on ebay.

Little OT stroll, if you'll bear with me...

We were in line for Primevil Whirl, and the couple behind us were talking about the Fairfield "presentation" they attended that morning, about purchasing BC..and the numbers they were throwing around as the buy in...well, I was a little floored:scared1:

DH gives me his "let them enjoy their vacation" look:rolleyes1 ...and of course, I proceed to turn around and say hello:teeth:..and ask if they knew about timeshare resales...

Nope.
The sales guy told them:
"No one ever sells their BC/Fairfield points!!"

It was nice to chat with them, and share a little bit of what I've learned from my DIS and TUG friends:)

Back OT;)

Ditto our absent minded professor:thumbsup2 Ebay, www.tug2.net and www.redweek.com:)

HTH!!
:sunny:

Well, the salesweasel wasn't *entirely* untruthful: there are very few bonnet creek deeds on the resale market. Developer price (no discounts) would be $165/K. The few that have shown up on ebay have gone for about $35-$50/K, depending. So, not many people have sold them.

Of course, I bought my deed at Sea Gardens, for $14.25/K, including closing costs. ;) I had someone check availability for me before I purchased, and for my week, there was plenty even at a few months in advance, so the home resort booking preference is no big deal for me; someone looking for other weeks might have more to worry about.

But, Wyn/FF has been selling those units very very well, from all I hear. And, when you consider that a peak 2BR week at BC retails for north of $35,000, before any discounts that's an astounding thing. They are getting DVC prices---a 2BR at SSR at list price is less than $32,000 for any but Easter and Christmas weeks. (The annual maintenance on the two are pretty close to even.)

wow, I had no idea it cost that much. My parents own somewhere else, but we are staying at Bonnet Creek in the 4 bedroom. I wonder how many points that takes. They must have a bunch. Can't wait though.

If you are curious, you can find a points chart here:
http://www.freewebs.com/crpnightowl/bonnetcreek.htm

The 4BR goes anywhere from 231K to 424K. Figure about $5/K in annual maintenance fees, so the out-of-pocket cost for that is anywhere from about $1100 to $2100, depending on the season. Quite reasonable considering the points cost for a 3BR at OKW runs anywhere from 356 to 654 points; at $4/pt in annual maintenance fees, that's between $1400 and $2600 out of pocket to the DVC owner.
