Would you go or have you gone to Bonnet Creek even if you are not going to visit the parks? A friend and I are trying to plan a 1 or 2 night trip with the kids this summer. I will be leaving on my big vacation a few days later so I don't want to go too far and Orlando is only about 3 hour drive. I've looked all over - the Keys, Naples, etc., but nothing compares to the value of Bonnet Creek since we would be able to share a villa (if anything is even available this late.)

The thing is we would not be going into the parks. My friend's Step mother works at Disney and my family has season passes so the kids get to go other times of the year. So, cold you spend a whole day or two just at the resort? Last time we were only there in the morning and at bedtime. What else would you do while you were there? I'm thinking maybe miniature golf at Disney or the archery experience at Ft. Wilderness. I was thinking about Downtown Disney since it is right there, but I hate trying to shop with my kids over there - too much temptation for them! :)

Does Bonnet Creek still do activities for the kids during the day? I remember seeing a flyer about it but since we weren't there during the day I didn't pay attention.

I don't know if this trip will even be possible since we are thinking about it so last minute.

Thanks!

Bonnet Creek has scheduled activities for the kids. Some are free, some have a small fee. I think it was $2 to make your own Ice Cream Sundae for example. There is an arcade, there is miniature golf, and there are the great pools and lazy rivers. Plenty to do without setting foot in the parks.:thumbsup2

I stayed there last year and didn't go to the parks. My BFF and I took our kids for spring break and had a blast. We have been to WDW many times but my BFF had never been and her DH didn't want her to go with their son, for the first time, and not him. We did a little shopping but mainly used the pool/lazy river/waterslid. We had a great week.

I'm staying at WBC next week for two weeks with my family. We will visit the parks but only for 3 or 4 days and the rest of the time we will be enjoying all the amenities of WBC.

Are you referring to Wyndham Bonnet Creek? If you like to swim/hang out @ the pool there is plenty to do at WBC. There are planned activities for kids & a few for the adults , nice playgrounds, miniature golf, pool tables, arcade, etc. We have gone to other Orlando timeshares and just stayed at the resort for a whole week - Vistana Resort is a favorite of my family.

That said I don't think I would go thru checking into a timeshare place for only one night. Not enough time since rooms are not guaranteed until 4:00 pm and you need to be out of the room by 10 am the next morning.
