Bonnet Creek - why?

Hi - in the past we've always stayed mainly at Windsor Hills or Emerald Island. I see so much on here around Bonnet Creek. How does it compare to WH and EI? Seems like Bonnet Creek is more a holiday resort than a residential community, is this the case?

Bonnet Creek is a resort -- It's got restaurants, multiple pools, activities, etc. all part of the complex. The furnishings are consistent from unit to unit. You have a big staff to help. It's like staying in a giant hotel, except you don't get daily maid service and you have much more space.

Windsor Hills is housing development. You are renting a house or condo. It's more of a residential feel. The houses are all decorated differently because you are renting from individual owners.

Bonnet Creek, Vistanna, Silver Lake etc are timeshare resorts with condos/townhouses. There are no pool homes. You will probably have to turn down (or accept) a timeshare presentation at some point during your stay.

You do not in any way have to turn down or go to a sales presentation if you stay at bonnet Creek. We are Wyndham owners and just got back from a stay at Bonnet Creek. When you check in they tell you once you are done to go over to the "parking pass" desk to get your parking pass. That is the desk where they try to set you up for a sales meeting. Just do not go over to the parking pass desk because the parking pass is not needed.

The only way you will be attending a sales presentation is if you want to go to one and you set it up. They do give away gift cards to ppl who attend them but it is NOT WORTH IT to go.

But Bonnet Creek is amazing resort. beautiful resort and rooms. 6 pools, 2 lazy rivers, 2 pool slides, putt putt golf, game rooms, arcade, activity center and craft room, daily activities for the kids all day long all around the resort.

I think if you have kids it is a much better choice than just renting a home or condo in a residential area.

Stayed at Bonnet Creek. Got a parking pass at the parking pass desk. No mention whatsoever about a sales pitch meeting, tour etc. Was handed pass and walked away. Did see some tours happening but was non-issue for us.

If they did not try to set you up for a sales meeting at the parking pass desk then you didn't meet the criteria they are looking for. You either didn't have your spouse with you or your income wasn't high enough. If they didn't ask you to fill out a form requesting personal information about you then you got lucky because that is the whole point of the parking pass desk is to sign ppl up for sales meetings.

I don't know where the other resorts are, but one reason why I like Bonnet Creek is because it is on WDW property. Next to Caribbean BEach. This makes it EASY to find late at night after a long day at the parks. A lot of times, I go solo and I know that if I can follow signs to DHS or Caribbean Beach, I will find my way home. One time I was at Epcot and had to go back to the condo. In 45 minutes I walked from Innovations to my car, drove to the condo. Got my camera and reviewed how to use it. After a pit stop, I drove back to Epcot, parked and walked to the same spot that I was in by innovations. That shows how close the condos are to Epcot. It is just as close to DHS.

When we stayed at Windsor Hills i spent several months negotiating with individual owners to get a deal and property i was happy with. How does it work at WBC? Do you deal direct with the resort a bit like bookking a hotel? If this is so, assume its more expensive than places like Windsor Hills and Emerald Island and less scope to barter or am i wrong?

Keep in mind this is a Resort with lots of activities and etc and you are not just renting a time share condo/house.
