Bonnet Creek vs. Star Island

We can get a 1 bedroom at Bonnet Creek or a 2 bedroom at Star Island. Which is the better option? It is an exchange week for $189. I really want to stay at the Art of Animation resort but the DH wants more room. And it ends up being considerably less.

When I'm with my kids (and especially when they were younger) I *really* prefer 2BRs, but Bonnet's location vis-a-vis WDW is better and the resort amenities are a lot nicer.

Are these your only options? What time of year are you looking? Another possibility is Sheraton Vistana---the units there have all been completely redone, and are lovely. It's just outside the WDW border, almost as close as Bonnet. Usually not a hard exchange.

We do have three kids (2 being 2 and under) which is why the hubs is really trying not to stay on site. We are looking in August and can choose the following right now:
Barefoot in the Keys Old Town (3 bedroom)
Legacy Vacation Club Lake Buena Vista (3 bedroom)
Star Island (2 bedroom)
Bonnet Creek (1 bedroom)
Cypress Palms (2 bedroom)

Of course the availability could change any minute and trying to decide. I know Bonnet Creek has transportation which would save on parking, right? Does Star Island have transportation.

If you have a choice of Cypress Palms and Star Island, then choose Cypress Palms.

If Star Island has transportation, I think you would have to pay for it as you're several miles away from the Parks.

I think with the kids, you should go with a 2 bedroom as you have more room.

However, you could probably make do with the 1 Bedroom at Bonnet Creek as the Master bedroom should have a King Size bed. And the sofa bed isn't that bad.

If Sheraton Vistana pops up and no Bonnet Creek (I agree with Brian), I would jump on that. It's a nice resort.

And exchange availability can change drastically over time so I wouldn't wait too long for exchanging into August.

If you have a choice of Cypress Palms and Star Island, then choose Cypress Palms.

Is Cypress Palms closer than Star Island or nicer? Why the preference to Cypress Palms? Thanks!

I've just heard more good things about Cypress Palms than Star Island. I've stayed at Cypress and it's quiet and nice.
