Staying there this weekend in a 2 bedroom deluxe. Does anyone that has stayed at this resort have any suggestions/reviews of the resort and/or the room? The in-laws want to see their grand son so it's a free trip!! :cool1:

Thanks for any help!

I've never heard of this hotel... it must be outside of Disney. You might want to post this on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions on the main page of forums. Good Luck!

The Bonnet Creek resort is a Fairfield time share that is on property, just down the road from the CBR. DVC has a large billboard up near the entrance.

Bonnet Creek is indeed a Fairfield Resort, but, it is not on Disney property. It is on the one piece of property Walt did not buy back in the 60's because the owner found out somehow who was buying all the land in the area and raised his price skyhigh and Walt wouldn't pay it. Therefore, all the surrounding property does belong to WDW and the land Bonnet Creek sits on is in essence landlocked. Disney must allow visitors to Bonnet Creek to cross Disney property in order to gain access to the resort. However, the Bonnet Creek Resort is not affiliated in any way with Disney.

It is not on property. It is accessed via a road on property but the resort itself is built on land not owned by Disney.

A thousand pardons! I really don't care if it is or isn't on property. Let's just say it is not owned by Disney any more than Swan or Dolphin and those resorts are discussed on this board.

It was a simple question. Do people camp out hoping to catch someone that makes a mistake? I was merely trying to get any insight on the resort, not get replies about being on property.

Not to beat a dead horse, but The Swan & Dolphin are on Disney property. The Bonnet Creek Resort is not.

I don't think people hang around and wait to jump on mistakes, but many people ARE here to give accurate information. I think if someone new to Disney reads this, they might appreciate getting the correct info so they are not surprised once they get to WDW.

I hear it's a very nice resort, and I hope you enjoy your trip! :smokin:

It is a little more important to some people who inadventently believe that they are on Disney property only to find out that they are not. For example, the extra hours are not available to guests of Bonnett Creek or other off-site guests. Wouldn't you be upset if you were told that you were on Disney property with all the benefits of being on Disney property only to find out that the facts had been misrepresented? I know I would. For other people, these issues are not a problem as these benefits are of no real value to them. Bonnett Creek looks like a nice resort. Enjoy your vacation.

I think that for the purpose of THIS PARTICULAR post, we can agree that this is a matter of symantics. OP clearly knows that this is NOT a Disney owned property, however, it's location, being bordered on three sides by Disney property leads to the reference of "on property" as in, being right there, in the middle of all things Disney. Although I know the actual dirt it sits on is not "Disney", for my purposes I refer to it a "on property" simply to differentiate between other off-site accomodations that are in, say, Lake Buena Vista, etc that you actually leave WDW to get to.

Is it my imagination or did yougoingagain?'s question never get an answer?
Cause I was wondering also how Bonnet Creek ( a Fairfield, non Disney, not on Disney property :worship:) was? :goodvibes
Thanks :thumbsup2

Momtomootoo stayed there a couple months ago and posted about a positive experience, maybe you could do a search for her review?

Yourgoingagain, you sure stepped on a landmine. Lots of strong opinions. This is the Orlando Hotels forum, people. :scratchin A single error correction would suffice. ;)

Anyway, Yourgoingagain, I'm certain you will LOVE your resort stay. :sunny:

We toured last year and we would have a fabulous vacation there, I'm sure! Here's a website with lots of photos, though they don't do it justice at all. Bonnet Creek development contains the Fairfield resort and in the future, it's also supposed to contain a few hotels and a golf course. Here's an archived Bonnet Creek land plan - if it works. The resort's neighbor is Disney's CBR and a block or so away is Disney's OKW. It's truly convenient.

Here's the Fairfield website, which you can search (in FL) for the Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort. On that page, there's a link to the resort layout map. I believe buildings 1 & 2 are in use now. Perhaps 3 is opening in May and more at the year's end.

HTH! It's a beautiful resort - enjoy! :sunny: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

One caveat...

Unless things have changed a lot, or are very different at this particular resort, Fairfield has been known in the past as the most aggressive of the timeshares as far as trying to sell to guests. They've also been less than scrupulous at times. Be forewarned about this, if you stay there you might be forced to take a VERY high pressure sales tour which historically will alst significantly longer than promised.

Nobody can "force" you to take a timeshare tour unless it was stipulated at time of booking! They can ASK you to attend, but they cannot make you attend! Even if you book under a special rate for agreeing in advance to attend a presentation, you CAN refuse the presentation if you are willing to pay an increased rate (I believe that the rate must be disclosed prior to booking, so that guests understand that if they choose not to attend, their credit card will be charged an additional amount per night).

If you book through redweek.com, for example, directly from an owner, there would be NO requirement for you to participate in a sales presentation. Have a great time!

I've stayed at numerous FF resorts, and I have never been forced into attending any sales presenation. Of course, I was invited and if I wanted what they had to offer and it was raining, I went. FF salespeople, like all timeshare salespeople, I've encountered have been known to stretch the truth. The most aggressive salespeople, I've encountered were at Westgate and Wyndam Palms.

All of this aside, Bonnet Creek is a very nice resort. The staff was very helpful and friendly -- definately went out of their way to please. The pool was nice with a zero entry area. The lazy river was great, and the water had a better flow to it than most.

While it's not on Disney property, you certainly feel like you are as you drive to the various attractions. However, you get no Disney transportation option, unless of course you want to park in Downtown Disney and take transport from there. Better yet, begin your day with a nice breakfast at Olivias, and hop Disney transport from there. (lol)

Have fun it's a great resort!!!

Well first: thank you to the last several people who posted and did actually try and help me with my original question.

2nd: Thanks for the heads up on the "time share tour" but this trip is with my in-laws :scared: who are already owners.

We own at DVC (SSR, BWV, and VWL) and have been told we have to return the favor in Dec.

So I have a 2 bedroom at SSR the first weekend in Dec. SSR is on Disney property, right? :lmao:
