Bonnet Creek Resort - How would you do this?

I'll try and explain and hopefully I'll get some good opinions. We "rented" off an owner for 13 nights in a 2 bedroom. We want to add 1 night but owner doesn't see availability. However, I see availability if I look up that one night on their website. If I book that room, could I call the resort with our reservation information for July and see if they could arrange us to keep the same room? Or, would it just be easier to go stay at Hilton or Grand?

I have never tried to add a night this way. It can’t hurt to call and ask the hotel if they can accommodate you. good luck!!! That is a nice long stay! Enjoy the pools! I like to grab a noodle from the activities desk when I pick up a pool towel.

Do you mean the Wyndham grand? If so, it sure would be convenient. You could check into the Wyndham Bonnet creek early the morning of your 13 night stay and maybe get a better shot at which view or building you want.

There are many reasons for an extra night not showing.

The rooms may need re decorating , Deep clean , Carpets to be cleaned ,

And general Maintenance issues

We added a night with a purchase on Priceline, I believe. We told them when checking in that we bumped up to a second reservation for 8 nights. They linked them so we didn’t need to check in again and we didn’t need to move during the stay.

Is it an issue that I'm using weeks or points or whatever, that I purchased from an owner (or broker)? Can I get the owner in trouble for calling to ask about reservation?

I rented points many times. I can’t see how you could get into any trouble. I have not heard that. I could tell when we checked in that the front desk knew we had rented from Ken Price. I just said we were guests of Ken Price. It did not seem to matter though.

The reservation isn’t in your name until a week or two prior to your stay but if you have the reservation number and the name it’s under, it’s not a problem to call. They won’t give you reservation info but if you have it, they’ll confirm it for you.
They won’t confirm whether you’ll need to move or not until check in. It’s based on occupancy and current room assignments at that time. But I’ve found them very accommodating at check in over the years, even if we chose to wait for a location over taking what was immediately available.

The confirmation I have now has my name on it. I found that strange.

I think I received the confirmation with my name on it as soon as I paid in full, which was usually around 60 days from travel date.

I don't know how it would work. However, if you are booked in a 2BR for 13 nights, book the same type 2BR for 1 night on the end, WBC can easily just have you stay in the same room the last night. My experience there is that they people will bend over backwards for you. Very accommodating. If one person says no, simply ask another one a few hours later. This should be a non-issue for you.

As someone who used to work in hotels, I can say that it's in the best interest of the hotel to keep guests in the same room. Moving is a hassle for everyone. Plus, a "check-out" room gets a more robust cleaning than a "stayover" room. So, the hotel saves a tiny bit of money by keeping guests with consecutive reservations in the same room.

While not guaranteed, this is would really low on my "Annoying Things that Might Happen on My Vacation" list.

Have you considered a one night stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian or elsewhere at Disney or Universal?
