Bonnet Creek or Marriott Cypress Harbour - pros and cons?

Assuming the cost is more or less equal, which do you prefer and why?

We are 3 families traveling with small children. We would like to be near the WDW parks for easy access, but we also want to avoid pushy time share people and noise. We would like to stay near one another and have easy access to pools etc.

We were pretty sold on Bonnet Creek, but some in our party would find it very hard to enjoy their stay if there was noise from the pool or other units or if they are being harassed by time share salespeople.

How big an issue is this?

Is the Marriott a better choice, even though it's more of a hike to the parks?

What would be some other good choices?

Thanks so much!

Jes

I have stayed at Bonnet Creek many times and it is much quieter than a regular hotel because the rooms are much larger.

As for the timeshare sharks, they will try to get you to agree to come to a presentation when you check in, they will call your room a couple of times, but it isn't that bad.

Bonnet Creek has a denser feel than Cypress Harbour does. At Bonnet Creek it's harder to find a "quiet" spot. Cypress Harbour is very "peaceful" feeling. I like both resorts, but for different reasons. Go over to Trip Advisor and take a look at the pictures posted of both resorts.

Cypress Harbour is my favorite resort to stay at in Orlando - I've actually booked back to back weeks scheduled for May 2011. But I still like Bonnet Creek, too, for all the fun pools and the closeness to Disney (within the arches).

As far as timeshare calls, they both will call you - we just unplug the phone.

Thanks, guys. This is very helpful. The reviewers on trip advisor often claim that the timeshare salespeople ruined their vacation at Bonnet Creek. That has me concerned. :(

my big problem with Marriott's Cypress Harbour - was getting out. got a back unit and it took minutes to even get out. So Bonnett Creek wins on ease of exiting.

that say really love the Marriott - they are excellent resorts.

while BC did not live up to my expectations (very High from this place) - it is a nice resort.

as say just unplug the phone. they aren't as bad as Westgate. Besides you can tell them you lost your job - or better yet - imply you have lost your job.

just make sure that your family (still at home) has your cell number and will call you on it.

or you can do what I use to -- make reservations for your last day - after you are have left.... (learned that one on tug)

That only happens if you let them.

There are two places where you will encounter them at most timeshares. First, picking up your parking permit from "guest services" or some other such innocuous-sounding set of people. They are really 'body snatchers' whose only goal is to get you to sign up for a tour. They will offer discounts on tickets, etc. A polite but firm "no thank you", possibly repeated a few times, is all you need. The second is that they will try to call your unit. Just unplug the phone.

As long as you never go on a tour, they are at worst a minor annoyance.

As for pros and cons of the two: I think littlestar summed them up nicely. Cypress is more spread out and peaceful, with slightly nicer units; Bonnet has a better location vis a vis Disney and is a bit more "active". Personally, I'd go for location, but that's just me.

Cypress harbor is our favorite resort and we have been to many (but never BC). The Marriott name ensures a high quality level. The resort is the perfect size, not too big, not too small, and it has something for everyone in your family no matter what there age. There are 3 pools, one of which is the quiet pool if that is what you are looking for. The resort is beautiful, landscaping is just perfect. We've never had any trouble getting in and out and we like the location in relation to the parks.
