We're considering staying at Bonnet Creek Dec. 5-15 this year and will need a 3 bedroom unit. I've seen that others on here have gotten great rates waiting until somewhat last minute to book, but it seems like most of those people were getting 2 bedroom units. I've gotten a quote of about $210/night already but am wondering if we could do better if we wait. Are 3 bedroom units hard to come by that time of year? Also, is $210 a good rate for a 3 bedroom for that time period? Does anyone have any recommendations on private owners to book with?

Book as soon as you can. That's prime time for owners to plan their trips. My mom is an owner and we are going with her. She said that Christmas was booked. The only time we could get down there was the week before Christmas.

Bonnet Creek is beautiful, but for a lot less money (like half) you could probably get a 3 BR condo or townhouse at Windsor Hills that would also be very nice and only a few minutes further away (about 5 minutes to AK). That way you wouldn't have to worry about not getting the 3 BR if BC is booked. Just something else to consider in making arrangements :thumbsup2

As I have it figured you will be staying 12 nights and 4 of those nights will be at the higher weekend rate. If you are paying an average of 210/night for the stay you are actually paying a bit over $8/1000 points. You could probably do a bit better; however, remember that the folks getting the super low rates are booking within the 60 day window and the owner is usually getting a 50% discount on the points required and sometimes even getting a free upgrade as well. There are no point discounts available yet for those dates.

There's really not much available at Bonnet Creek for these dates. I just checked and there are no 3 BR currently available, so if you want it -- it's a good deal.

Agreed. The larger units don't usually make it to the 60-day discount period. Windsor Hills would be cheaper, but if you really want Bonnet Creek, that's a fair price given that there is no longer any available inventory.

Bonnet Creek does not have many 3-bedroom units. And they are usually gone early, usually 9 to 10 months before the arrival date. The majority of the units at Bonnet Creek are 2-bedroom units, which would be easier to get. They can accommodate up to 8 people.

Keep in mind that the 2 bedroom units will sleep 8 and very comfortably. Another option would be to get a 2 bedroom with an adjacent 1 bedroom or studio. If you see the 4-bedroom Pres. available for a good rate, grab it.

I think $210 a night sounds high. I've seen deals on e-bay for much less.
