I read a review of Bonnet Creek that said smoking was allowed in the units and by the pools. Is this true?

When we were there 2 years ago, you couldn't smoke in the room, but we saw people and my brother in law smoked on the deck he just went and bought a cheap ashtray! As far as the pool, I did see people smoke on the outside of the pool deck, but now sure how "allowed" it was!

At the Wyndham Bonnett Creek smoking is not allowed INSIDE the units, but you are allowed to smoke on the balcony and they provide ashtrays.

the pool bar allows smoking, and in general they tend to be very smoker friendly. I had no problems smoking around the pools and no one ever said anything to me.... But i'm also a courteous smoker who tries to be aware of people around me and try not to smoke around others. (especially kids).

Based off my experience, I can't say how Wyndham staff would react if complaints were received about someone smoking around the pools, but I can say that if the smoker is someone who is the type to think of those around him (not smoking in a crowded area / not littering), They are not likely to get a lot of flak for smoking.

Thanks. It's a deal-breaker for me, then. Can't handle smoke at all.

To be honest, It's not that bad. The only potential issues you'll run into might be the pool bar.

While they are smoker friendly, That's not saying that they have written down that they allow smoking everyplace. I only recall seeing 1 actual designated smoking around around the main building. Outside of that, they aren't strict in enforcing no smoking in other areas. If you do see someone smoking next to a pool, I'm sure you can ask the person to move. Even then, It's not something I saw a lot of. (though I also wasn't there during a extremely crowded time).

As for Balcony smokers, because of the way the rooms are laid out, the only possible way someone smoking on a balcony would impact you would be if you had someone directly below you smoking. The balconies are very spaced out because of the layout of the units.
