Hello,

I am a DVC member and I've stayed almost exclusively at DVC resorts for the last 9 years. I have recently learned about Bonnet Creek and I want to try it out for an upcoming trip for 6 people (3 couples). I looked at a website (don't know if I'm allowed to say the name on here-it has 4 letters) and several 3-bedroom condos are available. They range in price from $900 to $1,600 for 3 nights; quite a difference. I don't know nearly enough about Bonnet Creek to know if there is a difference in the rooms to justify such a disparity. Do they vary greatly? Will I regret getting the cheaper room? Is there a way to know which room I am getting? Am I not asking/thinking about something? Are the 3-Bedroom condos all the same size? Is there a way to request a certain condo? Anything else?

Please help, and thank you.

Same time of year? Do they all say 3 Bedroom Deluxe? Or do some say 3 Bedroom Presidential? WBC has two levels of rooms: deluxe and presidential. The presidentials being a bit bigger, slightly different floorplans, and nicer finishes and furniture. Both are very nice, most people who have stayed in both don't think it is worth extra money (or points for owners) to stay in presidential unless you have the cash or points to burn. You can find plenty of room tour videos on Youtube to get a feel.

I'm guessing you're talking about VRBO - which I've never used, but I think it is all individuals just listing whatever they want to list, right? So if they are all the same level, I would say the disparity is people who aren't doing their homework to learn the going rate.

Units are assigned at check-in, so no way to know what room or building you're getting, but there really aren't any "bad" rooms. The units are all the same within a category (deluxe/presidential), so the difference is just location and view.

The prices for Bonnet Creek rooms can vary widely because they are rented by individual timeshare owners or businesses who rent for owners. It's a gray market and so prices will be all over. Some owners will advertise "moonshot" reservations that are very expensive in hopes of landing a renter who doesn't shop around and doesn't care what they pay.

To make sure you are getting a fair price you have to shop around. There is a lot of discussion about this in the weloooooooove bonnet creek thread.

One place to start is ebay, which has a brisk market in WBC rentals. Another thing about renting is that you generally pay a premium for reservations booked early.
